Relay for life
This past weekend here in Longview was the annual relay for life which raises money for the american cancer society. It was a moving event. All of us are somehow affected by cancer in our life whether it be a family member or a friend.
At this event teams of so many people walk around a track and raise money for the cause. This alll happens for a 24 hour period. Also during the whole time there are different activities and entertainment. There was a amazing amount of teams this year, I think around 90 teams and they raised a record amount this year, 201,000 dollars.
What I'm getting at with this topic is, would anybody like to maybe next year get a team together and raise a ton of money for this cause?
I would love to be part of this with some of you guys since I personally have been affected by cancer. My dad and grandma have died from it and I have a aunt who has beat it twice so far. So, who is with me in hopefully doing this????

I might be able to do this post-baby. Start a team and post a thread about signing up when the time comes for next year's event.
I've had an aunt and a cousin die from cancer both within a year of diagnosis.

I would be happy to help as well this is a great cause I have several friends and family members that have had cancer or have passed from it, and have done all that I can to help every year, Infact I put on a show in the spring time to raise money for cancer reasearch and awareness. This last year we raised 48,000 in one night. It would be a pleasure to help out with this walk, and help make a team of it.
Thanks guys, next year for this event hopefully we'll have a big turnout. It would be nice through out the year to maybe set some fund raisers of some kind up and raise alot of money. Victor, today was nice talking to you a little bit about what you did to raise up money. Your help next year would be great.
Count me in!!! I do Race for the Cure every year because I had a scare with cancer... and I go in again this week for a biopsy because my doctor found more cells that could be cancerous...
