Scion camping trip!

So, up at the FoF Show last Saturday, Dave, Erik, and I were talking about a Scion campout before summer is over. I'm thinking if we could get it planned soon, it'd be a helluva good time. So, anyone have any camp spot connections? or some secret spot we could get on short notice? I have kids, and a prissy wife that needs running water and a half way modern bathroom facility, so a place with those would be great. But if not, than it'd be just me an my older son, which would be cool also. Just throwing this out there, if someone wants to pick it up and run with it, go for it!

I vote Ft. Stevens. Its a few miles out of Warrenton, OR which is just east of Astoria. Location & info can be seen here:

This location has RV & tens sites but also has Yurts!!!!

Looks like prices are as follows:

Yurt: $41
Full hook up site (RV): $27

There is also a Shilo Inn close by:

As well as the town of Warrenton that has several restaurants, and a Costco and Fred Meyers!

My cousin has a house at Ocean Park, other side of the freeway from the beach. 2 bedrooms, 2 hide-a-beds, plus floor space. She just asks that it is cleaned and laundry done before you leave. I could give her a call and see if it is available any time soon.

Both of those sound cool. Where is Ocean Park at Robbie? is there room for tents outside of the house?

ratcityrain 09-01-2010 02:24 PM

depending on when, this could be fun

bbszero 09-01-2010 02:28 PM

OR, we could at least have an all nighter at Shawn's new place!

Just north of Long Beach. There is room for tents in the back yard, not alot though. Its been a while since I've been down there.

Kanchi 09-01-2010 06:02 PM

I'm down for whatever, they are within driving distance of each other as well.

bbszero 09-01-2010 06:31 PM

Yeah, my only issue is space, or lack thereof. If it was farily close, i'd bring both cars, since mine won't haul much. but that far, i'll probably go solo, which is cool. Whatever works for the most people, I'm pretty flexible (not like bendy, so don't get any funny ideas....)

ratcityrain 09-01-2010 09:23 PM

sorrry my yard isn't big enough to set up tents in & i doubt everyone wants to crash in sleeping bags together in one room but hey if u wanna try let's do it lol

hopefully the weather doesn't start getting real crappy

:eek:Fort Stevens is cool and has good camping support , Showers and Stores in the area. Don't know if we are going but as already mentioned the weather is changing fast . Let's decide quick .... Not to much time left this year . :icon_juggle:

RusWolf 09-02-2010 05:49 AM

bbszero 09-02-2010 11:30 PM

Ocean SHores would be cool. I like to rent the mopeds and just put them through hell!

Kanchi 09-03-2010 12:51 AM

^i remember a group going there a few years back...

ratcityrain 09-03-2010 02:20 AM

i was part of that group - it was so much fun. I love to go to ocean shores again (if weather is nice)

kkawana 09-03-2010 04:09 AM

seabrook is nice... if you just want to chill in some new england style cottages... anywhere from small studios to 5-6bedrooms... w/hot tubs... if got enough commited people splitting the cost isn't that bad... may fam did it a year or 2 ago... $500'ish for 5bdrm for 2 nights. figure at least 2 people per room $50 a head for 2 nights? in a nice fully furnished house. just supply food

bbszero 09-03-2010 01:00 PM

That's not a bad deal KK.

Hustler74 09-05-2010 04:18 PM

Yeah KK, Seabrook is WAY nice....I would be happy living above tha garage too...And for those who havent been there, the garage has a 1 bedroom loft above em..Plus community bikes to ride around on, private access to the beach...and on and on and on.....
