I've been really lucky in keeping 'Nilla's engine compartment looking pretty clean using the DIY pressure spray places with a low pressure spray, not high power. I won't recommend it because I don't want to be responsible for anyone else's engine.

Here's Vanilla's three year old engine compartment...

Clean-up for the Oregon folks:

Given: The drive to Seattle will only be about 40-50 minutes.

Given: The roll in to the SE5 site will be NOON.

If you folks arrive here at the M&G area around 9AM, that gives everyone TWO HOURS to clean up after the trip.

IF YOU FOLKS WANT, I can lead y'all over to a DIY pressure spray car wash, with four stalls and pay vacuums, and adequate space to to clean your cars here in Tacoma. (Only about two miles from the M&G location.)

There is a MacDonalds across the street if anyone needs sustanance.

That way you could get your cars cleaned up from the long drive, and then head into Seattle.

In Seattle you could roll in at noon, and spend the hour before the show starts doing any last minute touch-ups of the cars.

Let me know.

(If nothing else, we should leave at least one car at the M&G location to meet up with any stragglers, but that shouldn't be a problem, as we can leave a local car that doesn't need the clean-up.)

Anyway, let me know. If we don't do this, we will be trying to find some place in Seattle to do it, and there are no guarantees.

(I have a request in right now to verify the earliest we can get into the garage, but for now the only word we have is "noon.")

Tom

P.S. That actually much cleaner than when I got her from the dealer brand new...

^ There aren't ANY DIY car wash places anywhere near Safeco Field. None that I know of anyway. I live Downtown only a 5 minute drive from the stadium and I've always searched and have never found anything. There is an Elephant car wash a few blocks south of the stadium on 4th AVE S but it's not DIY.

http://www.elephantcarwash.com/safeco_field.htm

If you're looking for DIY the closest is a Brown Bear car wash self serve station in the Fremont neighborhood. It's only 15 minutes away from the stadium but if you're not familiar with the area it's VERY EASY to get lost. That's where I usually take Penny to shine her up.

LoL just read the last page of posts and it looks like Elephant car wash was already mentioned. Probably should've read that last page before posting

As it's already been mentioned. There are plenty of parking lots you can park to do any prep work but if you actually need to hose off the brown bear I mentioned is your best bet. The place I work is only about a mile south of Safeco Field but unfortunately there isn't any plumbing to the parking lot for a hose. LoL I could sneak everyone into the car wash where they wash all the UPS trucks but I kinda need to keep my job :D

OK, folks, let me give you an idea of how easy the trip to the DIY pressure wash place will be:

The Tacoma M&G location is on 72nd st.

If one heads WEST 2.6 miles, without turning, then turns right into the car wash, you made it. Can't get lost, even following me.

Here's a Google Map with directions...

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...=UTF8&t=h&z=14

And I'll be quite happy to either send you that way and wait for stragglers, or to lead you to the wash, so long as we leave someone at the M&G location to meet anyone who's late.

The parking area behind the wash should be sufficient to do the clean-ups, if not there are others right nearby.

See y'all Saturday morning.

Tom

Heading west on 72nd it turns into 74th then into Custer Rd. without ever turning off the arterial - just stay in the same lane all the way.

Here's the car wash:

Map and instructions are near the bottom of page 13 of this topic...

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...asc&&start=259

Most simply, Drive north on I-5 to EXIT 129 - 72nd st.

At the end of the exit turn right on 72nd street and go about 300 feet. (Move over to the closest of the two left turn lanes while traveling that 300 feet.)

Turn left into the strip mall, right past the Starbucks there at the entrance.

In about 150-200 feet, turn right in front of the BBQ restaurant.

Drive to the far end of the parking lot and stop in front of Factory Direct Furniture.

If all else fails, pull over, stop, and call me. I'm sending you my cell number.
