Default So i get a call this morning from toyota Finance

ok lets back up a few days. i called TFS to ask a few questions. was thinking of using my tax return money to give me 3 months worth of payments a head. the lady i talked to said she would call me a in a few days.

ok back to this morning. so i am about half awake when the phone rings and it is TFS. now the lady on the phone says i am behind in payments and my car is set for repo. at this point i am wide awake and ____ed off. explaining i made every payment since january. lady says they have not recieved payments since september. so i say i picked up the XB in december of last year. phone went to complete silence. this isn't mr brown and you do not own a toyota tundra. nope

now that my heart is beating once again she find the screen with my info on it. talk about a rude awakening and a Customer Service rep saying sorry about 20 or so times....lol i don't think i need coffee today at all...lol

but she answered my questions thought. she said at this point i can't prepay 3 months i can however pay this month and next month back to back and then pay the closer to the past due date but that they do not recomend that as if i am late they will still ding me.

i think you can, when you write your check or send your electronic payment in, just write out a larger amount, you will still have to pay on a monthly basis, but the principal amount remaining on the balance will be reduced which means less interest and therefore saving some money.

My payment is 328/month and I pay 500. The extra doesn't automatically go off the principal. They just take off the extra you add on to your next month's payment. I have been paying over for about 6 months now and my bill says that I don't owe anything till October. My other car uses Chase Auto Financial and they actually have a box that asks if the extra you are adding should be taken off the principal or taken off nexts month payment. I wish Toyoya had the same option.

You can pay as much as you want...I made sure to ask that when I signed my contract with them. Just like Shoe_Here said they will just take off money from your next payment or move your next payment farther. At one point my payment wasn't due for almost a year. Car is now paid off!

If you pay online like I do it will let you make 2 months payments and once you make them it will allow in a few days to make 2 months more........

If you think that is bad.......a few years back a collections agency for a bank calls and says my home is in forclosure.........I rent..........they insist I own a home........they insist my name is Brian Zinn and I live in Lakewood WA......which I do.........but I still only rent.........they insist I owe for a house payment.......turns out there is another Brian Zinn who lives a mile away from me...........I offered to pay his morgatge if you kicked him out..........they declined.........shame it was a nice house too........

shoe do you use TFS??

the only reason i want to do this is so if i am unable to pay my car payment at anytime i do not get late fees or risk my XB getting repo'd or get a ding on my credit. i just want to have a 3 month safe gaurd. i plan on paying it off early. but the whole what if are what make me nervous. growing up i was told plan a head for things that can happen. with my old cars i had enough money in the bank to replace a motor if needed or buy another car if needed. since i have nothing really to worry about for 3 years as far as my XB in concerned. i wanted to make 3 payments a head so within 3 months i could find someway of paying my payment ontime

i know i can pay lets say 1000 dollar payment. but the next month the system will bill me for another payment and i will get a late fee and most likely a ding if i do not make the payment. that is why the lady had to call me back as she couldn't find the info on it.

just pay the amount your monthly payment is, maybe a little bit more but to increase u credit its better to pay early, pay more and never miss..... just save the money in the bank from ur tax return till its due (Cant get lost there)

Hi, i just wanted to let you know I have been going through a bit of financial distress, TFS is AWESOME, if you cant make a payment you can ask for a diferral on your payment, what they will do is wave that months payment and move it to the end of your term, you dont occur any charges or negative credit points, they actually allow up to 6 differals on a 72mo term (as this is what i have, and unfortunatly for me, i have used all 6) and in washington you need not fill out any papers, actually i think i filled out some on the first diferral, but after that they can do it all by phone, just call em up and say you cant make the payment for that month they will go through their required speil and you'll be on your way....i completely understand your logic tho on wanting to pay in advance, and i dont reccomend using diferrals...but thought i would chime in and offer you some additional peice of mind

Maybe you should just hang on to the extra cash in a separate bank account or something that way you have it if you need it.

Interesting phone call.

I do use TFS. Let's say your bill is 500/month and you pay 1000. Your next bill will show that you owe 500 in 2 months.

I am paying $411 for 48 months, I have my TFS online set to autopay for $500 and my statements have not shown a change to any due date as additional money is removed from my principal, they didn't offer a way to change it either.
