Hey Guys -
I will be participating in the 16th Annual Susan Komen Race for the Cure this Sunday and am looking for your support!
Anything you can donate would be dandy!
Even a few dollars help!
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Komen's promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by: empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone, and energizing science to find the cures. Up to 75% of the net funds raised through the Komen Portland Race for the CureŽ will be used for education, screening and survivor support programs in Oregon and SW Washington and at least 25% are solely directed to national breast cancer research.

I donated!
EVERYONE...REMEMBER our own Nancy Baldwin (wife of Red/saddlesore) was just diagnosed with breast cancer and will be spending this today (9/20) at her first chemotherapy appointment.
This is such a great cause and charity to support. Can you spare $1? $5? $10? Let's show our support to Cynce who's working hard this weekend to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer awareness, education, and research.

Hey guys...the current total is $95...can anyone donate $5 to take it to an even $100? Or maybe $6 to break the 100-mark entirely?
The cost of a coffee...the change hanging around the house...the cost of an extra value meal...anything would be greatly appreciated!!!

The is the MS Walk coming up April 13th that I'm fundraising for already.
Other than that, I know that there's the Puget Sound Heart Walk coming up on Oct. 6th at Qwest Field (http://www.americanheart.org/present...tifier=3047951).

donation sent.. I'll be walking as well.. I had a scare with breast cancer a few years ago, so I do everything that I can to help.
there is a site I go to everyday and click, each click donates money towards woman getting mammograms http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/tpc/ERB_092107_BCS

Thank you sooo much for everyone's donation! I have participated in events such as these on a regular basis for the past few years and its so humbling to see cancer survivors as well was people currently going through treatment participating in these walks. Some of them can hardly walk, yet still manage to cross the finish line.
If they can do it, then so can I!
CoreyAnn - I'd love to do the MS Walk as well - my aunt is currently battling MS so it hits close to home for me.

After beating an entirely different kind of cancer I wish I could say I understood but I never will. The need to fight is an amazing thing and needs to be revelled in. The support of family friends and strangers helps more than most people can imagine. It's faith that gets alot of people through and for others it's sheer will.
This is an amazing cause, rallying around our fellow humans when they are beaten down and finding a cure is paramount.
Cynce you doing this race is an amazing thing and I hope you know how many peoples lifes you touch in doing this.
I did not participate in the MS walk last year and I regret it deeply. The most amazing woman I know who is also probably my best friend has MS and finding a cure there is so important. I don't know what I would ever do if anything happened to this woman who has such an amazingly kind soul.

Cynce - many of us here are touched by MS (the PNW has the highest incidence of it than anywhere else in the world). I have MS. Doug has a family member with it. Natalie's mother has it (as do 2 different neighbors).
I'm happy to help out with whatever charity events people are up to. I love fundraising and bringing awareness!!!

Thanks again to everyone who already donated but I know there are more people in the PNW forum who could spare a couple bucks for a good cause. The thing I love about this that 75% of the funds stay here in the NW to help our community! That's huge! :D
Tomorrow's the big day!
