hey when did my friend the old 4449 come through town. Yes I know the Daylight, and Doil McCromick. I worked on the restoration of it for the Freedom train in 1976, wow and is that dating me or what?

WOW, small world! I went down to Portland for the Holiday Express. The group is trying to raise money for a permanent location to service and store the SP 4449 and the SP&S 700 along with that ON 197. Doyle is doing very well and just enjoying running his "baby" during this time of year.

Earlier in the year, they ran out to Bend, Oregon and back =)

The 4449 is one of my farvorites trains it is near and dear to my heart. I worked on a samll train for a while up in Bellingham. It belong to Frank Culp I can't remeber her designation right now I think it was ..12 I can't remeber, but the guy has some fantastic old cars from the union pacific and other old railroads. It has been a long time since I talked trains with anyone but I love the old Steamers, to me they are the real trains and they are alive as well.

I remember the Freedom train. As I recall it was restored after sitting at Oaks Park for years. Dates me as well I guess.

Those are really nice! Congrats on the new camera, I am very jealous. My nice, nice one broke and I'm stuck with a crap one. I can only hope and pray I get one for Christmas and doubt I will.

When? I was driving by there and ate at a Mexican place a few days ago, but I didn't have my camera with me this time =)

I do have photos from way back though of a bunch of Scion's at Lincoln Square.
