lol u'll need a fishing license... and trust me, u dont want to mess with those fish and wildlife guys... my friends were catching salmon and they had people from far away with binoculars seeing how they were hooking them.. if they catch u not hooking the fish properly, they fine u and trust me, its not pretty... play it safe and get a fishing license so u can fish anywhere

yeah hagg lakes pretty good for trout and bass
and you can get a licence at any sporting goods store like fred meyer or bi-mart, btw there is a day use fee for hagg lake too like 5 bucks or something.

Check out the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife for lots of good info on fishing in the area.

Here's a good start for beginners:

And yes, get a license like everyone says and read the rules/regulation book. You don't want to mess with the ODFW people, they take this stuff seriously.

so for those who care for an update about my fishing experience. i went to hagg lake park near forest grove. it's a great place to go, peaceful, quiet... i went with 3 other friends and we caught about 20 fishes. they were small however. (not sure what type of fish they were since i know nothing about fishes, but i'm guessing trout or bass.)

it was fun nonetheless. next time i go, i gotta find a place with bigger fishes!

p.s. never, ever buy a cheap $15 fishing pole from fred meyers!! i learned my lesson! they don't cast far at all and the handle keeps breaking off!
