Default What the heck is up with this site?

I surf the internet. No, I surf the internet A LOT. I visit multiple forums, log-in and post on countless sites; this site, bar none is the slowest the past 4 or 5 months.

I'll give you a for instance here. It took 28 seconds just to log-in to reply to a different post. Then to get this page up to eat cheese and whine, it took a whopping 32 seconds. I know that doesn't sound like a huge amount of time FOR DIAL UP, but I'm not dial up. DLS, running at 54.0 Mbps. Not to say, I'm an instant gratification type of person, so if I click on something, I want it NOW. I mean, hey.... I've got a 9 year old and I don't even remember clicking the mouse (morning humor... work with me here).

Somebody help me out here. I've burnt out on waiting for pages to load and basically completely stopped posting because the idea of a quick post and move on is not happening.

I do the cache/history cleaning daily and all the other fun stuff (basically to hide where I've been from the wife ).... Like I said before, I post on like 6 different sites and this is the only one that get's me picking my nose waiting for the page to load.

Now I'll click submit, wait 28 to 32 seconds for it to ask me if I want to view my message or return to forum, then wait another 28 to 32 seconds for that page to load. That's a whole minute. I could have another bun in the oven in that time.

What browser are you you using Todd?

I haven't had any problems for the last couple of months. I use firefox and it loads in 3 or 4 seconds.

I am usually on work computers, which are painfully slow anyway, so I guess I don't notice. I will say, the page doesn't totally freeze up like it used to. But that might be my change in location...

Please don't give up Todd! I always love reading your posts!

web browser?.... Windows explorer is my main-stay (providing that's what you're asking). Should I switch to something else?

It just seem weird that THIS is the only site that I've come across that has given me issues.

ps... Time to take the winter tires off down here... Hurray!!!!! I like my steel/beauty ring look.. NOT !!!!! Odd how a set of wheels will totally change your detailing desire. Steely's=weeks without a wash...... Pretties=weekly washes

Time to eat dinner... Cheeto's and crystal light..... Two food groups and nobody to tell me differently. Lunch consisted of three Coors light's and a hot pepperoni stick. Ya, I'm thinking about writting a book about nutrient food intake. I'm thinking of a catchy title like "If You Like It Eat It, Just Poop More".

I'm on IE and the site was slow for the last couple months, but now it's better.
Try deleting your cookies.

Maybe it's not the site, but the user that's slow?

try clearing all the memory and pages that your computer saves.....that tends to help or get rid of usless applications on your computer....

Todd, try firefox. There is a bunch of plugins you can add for free that help too. There is one that blocks all the ads and the page loads much faster.

At times the site is painfully slow, probably because of peak usage and the servers being overloaded. If you always get slow responses then the problem is most probably your computer. For those of you who can get better performance by installing a different browser you can achieve the same performance from internet explorer IE if you wish. When you clear your internet cache do it from the control panel and make sure all of the IE windows are closed. Also if you have any third party addons they can interfere with your performance. Also look for adaware or spyware software on your computer it is hard to find. Try using Windows defender located at http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx there are other products out there as well.
If all else fails it may be time to back everything up and reinstall windows. I like to do this once a year to get a nice fresh system.

Todd,
4:34 am should not be peak usage time. That is odd.

Good luck everyone!
