Question What's with the huge disparity in pricing for service?

I'm looking at getting major interval service for my tC, which just recently hit 100k. I've been looking at prices on dealership websites, and they vary quite a bit:

Renton: 177.50
Burien: 111.43
Lake City: 176.66
Bellevue: 196.95
Tacoma: 199.95
Auburn: 179.59
Puyallup: 194.00
Seattle: 180.00

There's a $88.52 difference between the highest cost and lowest cost listed above. Is there a particular reason for this? I realize prices will vary due to locality, but that's a very significant gap and I'm already wary of shady dealership tactics due to my last service experience at Kirkland. PM your replies if you're not comfortable sharing dealership-specific information openly.

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples (maybe someone is including tire balancing or wipers, something along those lines).

Wasn't the whole point of owning a Scion the pure pricing services as well? I never really understood how all these guys got away with it... Whenever I went in for service and talked to the Scion reps they were always shocked the pricing wasn't as it was supposed to be.

the way pure pricing works is you have your prices posted and you have to stick to them. They can charge whatever they want at any dealership, on the price of the car and for service, they just have to stick by the price. If they wanted to charge 3k over MSRP on an FR-S they can, it has to stay the same price for 30 days, most dealerships won't because if you can drive down the street and buy it for MSRP why would you pay over?
