Default WOOFFFEERRRZ

I would like to tap into the PNW Scion community for some suggestions regarding subs for my Tundra I have posted a link to the enclosure I plan to use. I have asked the manufacturer for speaker suggestions, this was the response:

well this is actually a baffle system .

the woofers use the baffle board ( which replaces the storage lids ) adn the cavity underneath as an enclosure of sorts.

i recommend an 8'' woofer that has a high rms rating.

w3 w0 we have alot of audiobahn , punch , audiopipe.

and plenty of woofers to choose from.

The amp I have and would like to use is a Phoenix Gold XS 6800 and I have the Eclipse AVN50D head unit which has separate sub control. the truck came with the JBL system, I had to bypass the factory amp to run the deck anyway...

I have had friends that have had some great luck with JL Audio etc...what do you think??

Another co-sign on Elemental Designs. =D I have the 9kv.2 8" in my tC and I love it. It's not going to win me any SPL competitions, but I'm loving the sound over stock! I have pictures of it in the install thread in my signature. ...Man I still need to finish installing the components. hahah

I got the new pioneer 10" sub and it hits will with a crap amp that I have. I would recommend them they are cheep and seem to work well. I don't know if they make a 8" tho... but something to think about checking into..

ya i would recomend the new pioneer flat subs. they are small subs and don't require a lot of room/mounting depth

I've owned JL in a few different cars and I've never had problems, and its real clear. But....

Diamond Audio is where its at in my book. Fricking clean sounding. Very crisp, and very reasonably priced.

It sems the biggest problem is that of room... I have take some measurements and see what kind of air volume I can provide and start looking into some of these suggestions and see what will work. I think 8's are going to be the choice, i would like to get three of them but I just have to see what the space will allow.

I agree with jordon6001 on the diamond subs too and steve i know you have concerns with space so that's why i recomended the pioneer flat subs 'cause they don't need much of anything to perform well

Just dont get the Alpine Hype R's. I did and the Sound Quality is crappy. Loud yes, but wow, the quality is kinda bad.
