xA/xB 5-spd Ginuea pig needed
Hey guys, I've got a prototype short-shifter for the xA/xB that needs to be installed and written about on the site. The shifter is in Portland so you would need to pick it up here.
The requirements? You must have a Scion xA or xB with a manual transmission that currently does NOT have a short-shifter. You would need the skills to install this yourself (not too hard) and decent enough writing/photography skills to author a step-by-step installation tech article for the site. Lastly, you would need to give your objective review of the part.
Cost? Free.
This item is a brand-name item and not made in someone's garage. I cannot reveal the name until the article is complete.
Reply to this thread and tell me why you deserve to get the free short shifter.

Hey Darren, I would love to have a short shifter, I am going to be doing a header and intake install in the next few weeks, so I will be working on my car, one more thing to add will be no problem, let me know.
How are we supposed to write an objective review if we dont have a short shifter? To me it would be better for you guys to give it to those that have say, TRD, B&M, or any other type short shifter so they could compare it to that. Just think about those people that put a sticker on it and then they say "Yeah, it feels quicker," the ever famous butt dyno. I think you'd understand the placebo effect, same concept, so if someone has something to compare it to (i.e.,another short shifter) then your review would be better. Plus, if you get people that say that it does feel better than a B&M for example, Ittl be great for you. And I do have a B&M S.S. and I'm not completely impressed to tell you the truth.
I would love to have the short shifter. why do i deserve it? I have no idea. I'm a nice guy, I'm realy good at writting tech articles, I take pretty good pictures and I try and do a lot for the community and would like the opportunity to be a part of something like this!
I live in Portland, have an xB w/5-speed and no short shifter. My job is writing, editing, and I also have photography experience. In my experience as an editor (last five years at a nationally circulated magazine), I have written a countless number of reviews. I have also photographed a wide variety of subject matter for these jobs, too.
I am currently a Copy Writer/Public Relations representative for a major automotive parts manufacturer here in the Portland area.
I am very intersted. Please PM or e-mail me if you are so inclined.

Throw me in to the mix too... I can have it installed and the tech article up in a day... in my fabulous how-to tables format too!
For reference, you can see the other how-to's of mine as well... NST Pulley install, NST Shifter Bushing installs are great ones of mine too... my xB is stocky and I've done shifter installs before, so it's not over my head...
I'm pretty dang close as well.

OK guys, I am going to let someone new have a chance here... meaning someone that I don't already know. Hoodrider and Sushiboy are both in Portland... both seem equally qualified to perform the install and write the article. I'm going to flip a coin... heads will be Hoodrider and tails will be Sushiboy...

The winner is Sushiboy. Please email me at darren@scionlife.com and we can work out the details.
