Wait... you already do! It's Kelly!
Guys, I've been accepted and am joining the awesome team out at Scion of Gladstone! (Start Tomarrow)
What is better than to work with what you love?... so wish me luck!
UPDATE!
You'll still love Kelly, but you must look at her as a light in an area of darkness... Kelly is what makes a dealership pleasent for me to go back to visit at and hang out, and her ideals and way of treating us, the customer, are what interested me in the business...
Unfortunately, it only takes a few days to truely realize that her ideals aren't represented outside of her area of influence and it's quite dissapointing. We all know what a poor dealership experience is like (The pressure, redirects, the "sharking" outside), and from the inside, it's IDENTICAL. It's an envirnment where you MUST be the guy who only looks out for number 1, and that means to do anything in your power to get the "UP" (What they call a customer), keep them, get them testdriving, and get them in the door for the sales manager to do his work... and the same ol' nasty tactics are still in use today...
I've always disliked going to a dealer and seeing 5 or 6 guys standing outside just waiting to walk up to me, but I never realized that they were working amoung themselves to "Claim" me and even called me before I drove in, just to get the jump on the other guy, and to get that jump, they'll even distract each other, misdirect each other, and in some cases, just tell each other to go somewhere else so they can have at it. Just go to gladstone and listen while you hang out with Kelly... you'll hear "UP RED, UP BLACK"... (Claiming cars that even just drive by, and ones that drive in) It's an envirnment where your peers do not want you to succeed, but want you to fail, as they benifit as a result, and as the new guy, they could care less about you, and that doesn't stop at the salesmens level, the sales manager and desk only want to spend time with the established guys, so you have to fight, beg, prod to get their attention or help (Which they grudgingly give)
And as a fellow Scion lover and person who loves the Scion Buying process there were things that just really dissapointed me past the above aspects...
I witnessed at least two parties interested in Scions get "Directed" to more expensive and less efficient cars, as many of the guys just don't like Scions and want to sell something that they can get more money out of, as we all know that Scions are such a value that even the salesperson doesn't make much off the deal... but that bites back, as the salesperson will do quite a bit to direct you to a matrix or corolla instead of a xB or xA, and some will just walk away from someone interested in a scion altogether. (WTF?)
I couldn't help people who wanted Scions yet, as I wasn't certified, but I watched a salesmen just walk away from a couple who were looking at a tC. I asked him why he didn't help him and he said "I don't like Scions". OK, but at least get a Scion Salesman to help them... but, then you realize that in order to do that, he must leave from the front and could miss an "UP", so they walk aimlessly and he gets to try to claim someone he can make money on.
It was an endless series of this that resulted in a huge dissapointment on my part and my decision to pursue something I could believe in, and ultimately, could respect myself doing.
I will say and repeat over and over again, that Kelly, IMHO, is what makes Scion of Gladstone the success it is with Scion Sales... I couldn't imagine what that place would do if she weren't there to keep focus on selling Scions, and MORE importantly, selling them with a respect for the customer as an individual, and not an "UP". Her individual attention to us, her fairness and resposible selling practices were what got me interested in the world of Scion Sales and working for Gladstone. But, in the end, I must say that her ideals are not shared by the whole, and although, I'd send everyone of my friends or family to her for a great car and good deal, I would not send anyone to anyone else there... and that's sad and dissapointing.
SO, keep me in your thoughts and prayers... I'll bounce back like always... but you gotta do what you believe in, and what you think you can grow in... Cars make me wacky enough competitively at shows, I can't let them make me that way professionally, and in my daily life.
Thanks for your support guys... SL is the place to be.

Just bring people with you who want to buy cars and we'll be good!
It's nice to actually be at a dealership that people WANT to go back to and hang out a bit.
