Default Your opinion requested...

Okay, three quick questions -

I bought new wheels (they won't be here until next week and I'll miss out showing them off at Toyotafest) and I need to know information on this:

1. Does anyone know a place that will custom color chrome (no...not the whole thing, just a couple of areas)?

2. What color is the best offset for my Envy Green box? I keep going back and forth between Cotton Candy Pink or Polar White...your guy's thoughts?

And then I bought two new side view mirrors (the RS2s with the turn signals) and I'm wanting to have them painted Envy Green.

3. Anyone have any recommendations on places in the Seattle-Tacoma area for having those colors changed out from yellow to green?

I have a couple of other treats that I'm hoping to have done at least in time for Silverwood/Excelerator and I'm very excited that I'm finally getting things moving along (darn jury duty took up a whole month).

Any ideas/input/help is appreciated!!! THANKS EVERYONE!!!

custom color chrome?

You want things painted on the wheels?

I have a buddy who has painted some wheels by adding lil things to em.

If you have seen the Dodge magnum from Car Nutz, a guy in our club painted the wheels on it. I think he did the car too? I'm not sure.

Yeah...I want to take parts of the chrome and paint over them but that's involved with sanding them down and then "roughin" them up so that the paint will adhere correctly. Chrome is different then painting alloy so I'm just trying to find someone who is able to do this.

I assume your a girl by the pink color choice. I think it would really
stand out, but might clash. If you had stickers of a different color
and you color matched them it might be nice. Black would match
your pillars but be more suttle. I must admit envy green is a harder
color to work with than my camo. Maybe a shade of green on the
wheels would look good. I'm sure you will work it out.

Good Luck

1. Any decent paint shop should be able to but I would look at motorcycle shops first. They deal with chrome all the time.

2. gold gold gold. but if you dont want gold, I would definately stay int eh green family, white, yellow, black or greys would also work.

3. Strouds does the best body repair and paint around in my opinion. They are in Tacoma.

Can you post up a pic of your rims? You may reconsider your wheels.... there is powder coating that looks like chrome.... you may save a BUNCH of money by powdercoating a set of painted rims rather than un chroming chrome ones.... I have onlky seen this finish on wakeboard towers on boats, I don't know if you can only powdercoat certain areas etc... It does require a trip to the oven... either way... I am looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Here is what they look like. I wanted SUV/truck type wheels. No matter where I went I was told to get tuner wheels which I hate. This was my way to "compromise". Everything I loved only came in 5 or 6 lugs and my darn xB needed 4s.

Let me know what you guys think. The thin stems are what I want to color as well as possibly the inside faces. I bought the 18" chrome and when they come I'm going to head out and get some z-rated performance tires.

A guy in my club can paint wheels. I dunno how busy he is, but if I talk to him, I can ask him?
