Default *CRACKDOWN* Riverside County

Hey gang, I know it's a little late, but ABC7 is reporting about a crackdown on street racing and illegal engine mods after a deadly wreck on the 60 freeway in Riverside county. They will be popping hoods and checking for illegal exhaust at checkpoints ALL WEEKEND! The report says nearly 70 cars have been impounded so far.

F' the cops/popo's/50's, . They'll never get me. Maybe that is why not so many cops were at Eibach today.

I went through 14th street................no checkpoints. They'll most likely do checkpoints in populated areas, like Tyler and Magnolia, etc.

I'm still putting on an exhaust and Intake.................F the cops.

Could be, but the Riverside County Sheriff Deputy ABC7 interviewed specifically said they were after street racers or anyone who remotely looked like one (big wings, fart cans, etc.)... the drunks were a bonus.

They started impounding cars with illegal mod's due to the racers killing people.
I keep hoping I get pulled over because mine's 100% legal, but some think it's not.

I have to say though, the a**holes racing and killing peopl blow and ruin it for everyone.
Don't just hate on the cops.

I hear ya.

Honestly, I think street racing is for immature folk who THINK they have something
to prove by challenging another person.

Cars aren't nearly as bad as riding a bike. Every short little *hit tries to race you in the WRX and Mustangs.
I normally just laugh, but if they have a girl in the car, I will let them take off, then smoke them (as legally as possible, and only on the straights within the speed limits) and they usually turn off pretty quickly. Sometimes if they stay in the lane, I'll flip-up my lid and laugh to rub it in.

Street racers are jackasses.

I can understand the negative feelings towards street racers in general, etc. I personally haven't "raced" since i was 18. But my question is if people hate the racers/racing so much what is the point of even modding our cars in the first place? I mean yea some of the *hit looks great and its nice to take to a show or whatever. But in the end why pursue more HP or what have you if you'll never use it? (Although there is always sactioned racing or whatever you want to call it)

because at a show, its not only looks that matters, and if you go to the track where it belongs like i do then thats the real reason

There's a big difference in racers/racing and those who modify cars
to strive to make them look much better than the regular stock cars we see.

I take pride in my ride and I want people to know that but keeping it clean 24/7,
lowering it to make it more appealing to the eyes, and not to mention sounding
nice as well.

It's more of self satisfaction.
