Default another tc gone

hey guys im very sad to say and i was just in an accident. i was on my way to pierce on the 101 N when some angry van that was on my ___ earlier cut me off , i swerved to get out of the way lost control skid across 4 lanes and slammed into the right freeway wall bounced off hit it again and skid back into the freeway. sounds horrible right? yeaaa the whole passanger side is F***ed up all the pannels were crushed in and if your heading that way around the tampa exit you might still see blue on the wall(assuming they dont wash it off) so my paint is gone front wheel was torn off. The center console lookes guted, my passenger window was up and shatered glass tor up my hand and i have a purple skinless bruise from the seat belt. any way ill try to post a pic i took from my cell later. its a horrible feeling and i hate it my babies gone im stuck here sore as hell.

Dude. . . . . so sorry to hear, bt from the sounds of it you are lucky to be typing right now. I just hate people who don't realize the harm they can cause by messing with people ion the road. Did he stop to help at all? Did it even know what he did?
regardless, I hope you are ok.

I'm with you 100% and it was definitely the van's fault. . . but I ALWAYS move if somebody is tailgating or wants to pass. It's to avoid that exact outcome.

Did you get a license plate number?

Sorry to read about your accident and I'm glad you're OK. Did you get a description of the van, and did anyone stop to offer you help?

thanks people, i forgot to say that no i didi not get a plate and no witnesses so im probably gonna be liable. also the airbags did not deploy, ummm not sure if i can sell anything from the car at this point i have to talk to the insurence to see if i can take my few mods out of their since the front bumper looks good. also the air bags SHOULD have deployed right? i mean i hit a wall going 70 and no bags i so im kinda worried about that on a tc and i remeber BOB tc's dint either but i did hit just the side so not sure. and yea like 3 cars pulled over to help out but dint see the van just me fly across the freeway. this is the worst time for this stuff to happen damn finals and everything im stressing out.

hey Ali mine telling me how your accident played out? shoot me a pm if you can, wondering how long this process takes and how long till i know if its totalled.

there are so many factors in making an aribag deply that 9 times out of 10 the factors aren't met so the bags don't deploy

Except for the first generation airbags, this is common across every car and every manufacturer.

And being that you are alive and relative uninjured (did you hit the steering wheel or did your knees hit the dash?), I'd say that you didn't need the airbags. The airbag is only needed when the seatbelt fails to hold the forces and/or you collide with the steering wheel (due to high forces).

Trust me, if it is the case that I stated above, be glad they did not deploy. You'd probably have a set of burned arms to add to your list of injuries. That and a hefty bill to replace the airbags to make a "total" scenario more likely.

But I wasn't there and don't know all the details, so it is possible your airbags malfunctioned, if your situation does not match what I have stated above. But more than 9/10 times, they do their job.

The 1/10 times they do fail is in frontal offset collisions, which sounds like it COULD be the case. Then again, this happens to most other manufacturers too.

not to mention depending on where your hands are placed on the wheel, for example if your hand is on top of the wheel when the bag deploys a broken nose, if they are in the normal position (10 and 2) broken arm and thumbs

i see i see well if the car is totalled and honestly i hope it is cuase i have gap insurence ill hopefully get a nother tc. and yea what hurts is the lower right side of my back and left shoulder, when i hit the wall my body tried to fly to the left and i guess my ribs hit the arm rest and obviously the seat belt saved me but left some nasty burns. ive been ina car were the airbags deploy and it sucked, all the smoke and sulfer (i think) filled up the car and i couldnt breath so i was just worried about them deploying if they shoulld have. also anyone have info on gap insurence ?

if you car is totalled.. whatever you owe for the car, the insurance will pay(only if you have full coverage) .

however, say you owe 13k, and you paid 18k for hte car.. gap will cover the 5k.

hmm.. i dont know where to start, i dont want to give you any false hope or anything like that.

but your INSURANCE COMPANY(state farm, all state, mercury, whatever it is) SHOULD cover what you owe, however if you owe as much as you said, i highly doubt they will cover it.

but that is where GAP INSURANCE SHOULD step in and pay off the rest

yup gap insurance is the best.. definitely something i recommend to everyone... if its considered a total loss gap will pay the rest of what the insurance company will pay up to the value of the car at the time of the accident... and remember gap will pay up to $500 insurance deductible... so defintely let ur insurance company know u have gap. good luck man.
