Thanks for the tip. It's timely for me, as my insurance premium is due soon, so I was just about to start some comparison shopping. If my result is half as good as yours, I'll be pleased with the savings.

I pay about 1400 a year for my car too with Progressive right now and I got a quote from them that was about 850 for the year, for the same coverage. As soon as my coverage runs out I am jumping ship!!!

i've heard of wawanesa when i lived in san diego

and it's mostly in southern california and oregan... thus i'm moving this thread to pac south.

also note, you must have a really, really clean record before wawanesa will insure you... thus why they are able to give you such a great rate. (that's what i have heard from everyone that uses them)

as far as getting them to pay for someone else that has them as insurance.. yea.. it can be somewhat of a pain.

to the OP, why isn't Wawanesa more popular? yea... the clean record part and insurance claims seems to be their thing.

as far as savings for the insured? yea... that's really their only good thing.

just fyi a lot of insurance companies dropped their rates including my company. its really competitive right now because of the whole market, but rates will go back up soon. meaning when your next renewal your insurance may go up again.

im switchin to wawanesa pretty soon, since most of my family has it and has great rates, one question, i had a speeding ticket, but went to traffic school, does that mean my record is clean? or does it mean i have no points, but still have a record.

As long as you don't get another ticket within 18 months your record will stay clean. If you do get another ticket within 18 months and are even allowed to complete traffic school again, the second ticket will show up on your record either way. The advantage of taking traffic school the second time is that it erases the point, yet the insurance companies will still see that you received a citation.

I switched from 21st Century to Wawanesa more than 5 years ago and I saved so much with them.

Great insurance company. They do require a good driving record so if you have a clean record I'd recommend to check them out.

Heard about this company through my family member. They offer very low rate. I'm switching once my premium is up by the end of the year.

KK trying to get a quote on there site

"No driver on the quote with 3 or more years of driving experience has been convicted of more than 1 minor traffic violation within the past 3 years."

This mean speeding ticket? The word "convicted" is really bothering me.

yup, if it's on your record, then you've been convicted.

convicted is such a terrible use of language in this country. I am not a criminal. Been driving since 93 and that was my only moving violation. Convicted is really a bad word to use since it refers to people that have prob. been in jail.

Anyways I had to stop the internet quote cause I did not have the vin## handy
