Lol they will have be pulling people over left and right..pretty much pick and choose.

What's your source on this anyway? jw

Truth be told though they could pull you over for doing 1 mph over the speed limit..radars are very accurate these days.

actually, they can still give you a speeding ticket even if your driving the speed limit. the speed limit is just the highest speed you can travel during perfect weather. and the weather is up to the officers discretion and its true that they can give you a ticket for breaking the speed limit just by a couple mph.

Who doesn't speed in So Cal? Everyone does right? We're always in a hurry here and especially when everything is at least a 20 to 30 min drive. Speeding tickets is up to the officer whether to give it or not. Plus it depends on the road condition too and where. Residential speeding has always been a factor, but freeway or highway is just depending on traffic.

Too Fast for Conditions is the ticket you'd get. So if you're going the speed limit in a downpour or even under the speed limit in a blizzard - if the officer thinks it's too fast for the current conditions, you get a ticket.

Thats like the 10 fwy going to palm springs... the flow of traffic is like 100mph. When the guy in the lambo has to catch up to me to look at my car something is most def' wrong with that picture.

The whole reason the 5mph "rule" was there in the first place was because way back when radars were only accurate within about 5-10mph. That is usually why going about 5 over is seen as an ok thing to do. Now that radars are much more accurate, a cop can pull you over for doing 1 or 2 mph over.

Generally just like I tell everyone else that is concerned about this - don't drive like a jack ___ and don't do excessive speeding and you will be fine..

i lol'd thinking people would believe something like this would be true..

it's whatever. cops have been able to pull you over for whatever reasons at their discretion. the state has always needed money. thinking the CHP would actually announce that they're trying to raise that much money by pulling over (which would be like everyone).. is a stupid thing to believe.

even a typical CHP isn't that psychotic to pull over that many people for such a stupid reason.... that's just way too much work.

Other than the basic speed law or prima facie, I'd like to see what vehicle code would be violated by going 5mph over limit.

VC or it's BS
