OK to day was the day I go get my ref ticket all taken care of except it ended in failure..


Emissions Sticker says that there is a Warm up Cat & 3way Flow..

1 problem 08scion XB exhaust only have 1 cat.. The master Tech of Toyota in Riverside owns one and stated 1 cat.

A student at SJC provided a document of the schematics of the exhaust stated that there is only 1 cat on my car. (good kid)..

So the ref failed my car "Need to install Cat in OEM spot, or provide letter from manufacture that there was only one cat installed during production. Emission label does state two cats"


... so ya im pretty sure the warm up and 3way are all in the same manifold region but he saw the ____ty weld that scion did and stated that it was tampered and probably removed




:-( so i have a friend getting me a new emission sticker to see if its any different and im also calling the dealer i bought the car from and sayin they sold me a car that doesn't even pass smog

 

Just got off the phone with a buddy in parts who is printing up my emison sticker...

There is 2 options so Im ordering one of each (early/late production) maybe someone was dumb and put the wrong one on.. so we will see tom morning

even so the guy could of just like let it slid

 

and as far as the Non correctable court fee

Well next time his machine breaks down and I have to assign a tech to go out and fix it maybe he'll wish he passed a cool 2nd gen that needed an inspection!!!

well.. the resonator is a catted reso.. sooo thats what he was looking for and thats what i replaced!?... grr stupid scion!

so it deffinitly is a resonated cat... im surprised that the ref didnt think of that? i mean it has to be the reso list price is 860.. lucky it wuld only cost me 500 but still WTF!!!

Your chances of passing after replacing the catted stock resonator are two thumbs up.

 

I've seen that xD before too lol. I have the bsp gen 2 on 20's.
