Default fog light short

one of my fog lights has a short or something. its not a burnt out bulb. the dealership said they wont look at it cause its not the stock bulb in there and i dont have the stock bulb to put back in there. what can i do to find the short? or does anyone think if i take it to a different dealership they will fix it?

thanks in advance.

Is it OEM fog lights, but just with a different bulb? You say it has a short of something. Are you saying one bulb does not work, and the other does? Could purchase OEM bulbs (if OEM fog lights) and put back in and see if the problem goes away. Are the OEM connectors still on the factory wires, if they are not OEM fogs? I know, lots of questions. For suggestions, more information is needed.

Is the non working bulb on the drivers side? If it is and you have an AEM cold air intake its possible the air filter rubbed against the wire and pulled it out.

Unplug the non-working foglight and then turn on your fogs and check across the plug for 12VDC. If you have the 12, the problem is the bulb, if you don't have the 12, it is a deaper problem. and the dealer should repair it under warrantee I would think. Good luck.
