Default Formula D...just a few pics from last weekend. 56K ok?

Just a few shots from this past weeks Formula D Event. Saw a few Scion peeps like Cat early but never saw him again. I kinda want to apologize to a few peeps first for not posting up any shots I took at their event over the past months. There was SE's Luau with many shots of other clubs participating in the games. When was that anyways? haha Then there was the Dodger game some SE, AS, and an SDG? went to. Then there was the more recent Team Sciontific show. Everyone was taking pics there so I figured they had it covered. I mostly took pics of people rather than the cars. Scion Image's show was posted on autoimportcraze.com so Jerry is covered! So my apologies goes out to you guys when you wonder why I'm posting these up and have never posted your event on SL. I'm forced to prep and review these shots because I have a deadline to get them to Edwin V. for autoimportcraze.com.

So consider this a preview of what his web site will have posted in a few days. He had 4 shooters and I alone took just over 3k's shots that day. ha

Anyhow, the residual benefits of knowing Nilo JC Miranda:

3 hours before the gates would open, these peeps were lining up already:

Look who frikkin' showed up after a night of hard partying:

And like a rapper with a posse:

LA Auto Guide writer, Formula Drift judge, award winning xB owner, and SL's own Ken Takehashi (with a groupie!):

Note to SL readers: I will buy one of these before I buy a Scion

Before the drifting began:

Ken Guschi with Ken Takehashi's groupie:

On the track:

Hitting the wall. On the last pic you can see concrete flying from the k-rail:

Hitting the clipping point pylon:

Up close and risking life to bring you the best possible coverage: haha

After changing underwear from those last shots, time to get my nerves back and head to the vendor area:

Back to the track area I discovered Scion's VIP Suite. There were about 8 event suites from different companies but as always....Scion's was the best and most crowded.

WTH?!?!?! j/k hahaha Now I know I'm loved if I'm in the same place as Mike Moo.

Anyone remember Wendy from Scion United? I did.

And Danny?

Once again Scion did not hold back on the food and booze. Open bar once again!!! Since I was working the event, all I got was a diet Coke and not my usual 8 beers and 3 shots of Patron. j/k

View from the suite:

Back on the track:

It's comforting to know that no matter what event I shoot, people consider me #1:

FIN

Again, for complete event coverage visit www.autoimportcraze.com. Pictures should be up starting tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks Andy. I prefer to shoot on the track rather than the models. You know how I feel about exploiting these beautiful innocent young ladies striving to make their lives better.

On the track? A few of us were going through the magazine during dinner and one of the guys from BMG said you were at the trailer right after I left. I said are you sure? He said yeah but she has black hair now. I said ohhh...that's her sister Evelyn has red hair like in the picture. ha Where were you?

Everyone else, thanks for the props. I'm still learning a lot.

Part 1 coverage can now be seen on www.autoimportcraze.com

I think Edwin V. is still going through all my shots. ha

Not to show my age and tv watching habits...but who is that Rob guy anyhow?

Mike, I already did didn't I? ha

Like NVMyTC said, it was a lot of fun.....even from my working perspective. I never knew there were peeps who were extremely passionate about their favorite drivers. I saw the crowd doing the wave in the grandstands and you can hear them yell & cheer across the track near the starting line.

November 15-16th is the last drifting event this year in Long Beach. Not on the streets like earlier this year but on the loading docks somewhere. go to: www.FormulaD.com
for details. Two day event for $35 bucks. That's a great deal.

I just saw this. Edwin V. finally posted up all 3 parts of the coverage. (WTF did he use my shots for Part 3 when I gave them all to him at the end of the event? He hates me? Or best for last? j/k)

I asked Allen Chu (one of his other shooters who takes awesome action shots) for tips on shooting the drift cars and it helped!!! These have been my best action drift shots from all previous ones I've covered. And most if not all the model pics in the misc section were taken by Big Johnny from SE. In between track sessions, I went to hang out with my friend and gave him my camera to hold. He walked around with it and took those and a whole lot more Edwin V. cannot post.
