Good Dealer for Transmission Service.
Any know of a good dealer for transmission service.
I have a brand new manual xb and the clutch slips in first gear up ANY small hill (been driving 7 dif manual cars in 10 yrs) and feels like a slight clunk after every gear when the car gets warmed up, oh and the reverse whine is pretty loud (this one I dont know if it is normal or not on xb's)
I live in orange CA near tustin Toyota but I bought mine from miller toyota.
A N Y comments on these or other toyota service depts would be appreciated
I just dont want to go to one of those (EVERTHING SEEMS FINE YOU BEST BE ON YOUR WAY) dealers
THANKS >>>>>>>>>>> :D

reverse whine is normally pretty loud on toyotas and some other cars like hondas.
i'm not sure how fast you are letting out the clutch, but try to let out the clutch faster for those hills and see how that works out.
so yea... even if you find that "good dealer for tranny service"... i'm guessing they're gonna say the same exact thing. as far as dealers go, i'm preferrable to cabe, longo, and carson. perhaps ask someone there?
hope it all works out for you

The problem is up any hill it chetters slips then grabs.
Funny thing is my wifes automatic doesnt whine nearly as much in reverse and sounds different on start up
Any ways maybe I should go test drive one to compare.
Does anyone have probs on this manual like I do or any suggestions on local dealers to Orange county Thanks

i'd say Cabe specifically....I've heard too many horror stories about Longo's Service Dept and I don't know much about Carson.
There's one specific service guy at Cabe that has owned an award winning box and currently has an award winning tC....as a matter of fact, it won first place yesterday at Scion Nights.
Anyway, he's ripped apart both of his cars so many times and knows so much about both cars it's kinda scary.
