Hit and Run at Cal State Northridge
someone hit my car at CSUN yesterday...left no info, just a post it note that said "sorry"...No offense but it was probbaly a girl(guessing from the way the writing was) No one saw anything, and campus police said they can't do much other than look for cars with damage because I have no idea who did it...
I got 3 estimates, from three different places, each at $2,000+ depending on how far in the damage got. the whole hatch will have to be replaced and maybe some internals, the left tailight, plus the whole back of the car will have to be repainted so that it all matches and you can't tell it got work done....
I could report it to my insurance and they'd fix it, but it would jack my insurance up because I have no info on who did it. I mite just have to use the money I was saving for my Viniati body kit to get this fixed....
Why are people such asses?

it sucks that people don't consider the amount of time and money you've put into a vehicle and just take off assuming it'll fix its damn self...
So now what guys? I pay my deductible and raise my insurance, or wait another pay check to drop $$$ to do it?
Ima post in the regional forums in case anyone knows anything....lord help them if I find out who did this....
any info would help.... thanks

I hear ya...some people don't care about what others have poured their heart and soul into....it's like they think that since they don't care about their car, why should you care about yours?
Good luck finding who did it.

aww man I'm sorry that happened - I hate how people do that.
I couldn't really tell from the pictures, but is it something where you could maybe replace the driver's side taillight and pick up a carbon fiber hatch instead? I couldn't tell if it was a lot more damage than that from the pictures but that might be something to look at because I know I've seen people selling some of those things for pretty decent prices on SL.

Dude, that effin' sucks. I know exactly how you feel... violated and disrespected.
Back in January I was involved in a hit-and-run felony while riding on my Yamaha R6 on the way home from work. I was going north on La Brea here in Los Angeles and this idiot coming south turns left right in front of me at an intersection. I smashed into this car going about 45 mph, came down head first on the pavement as he just backed up around my crippled body and totalled bike... took off running. I sufferend a major concussion, compound fracture to my left forearm, and 5 days in the hospital. My baby is trashed.
Come to find out this guy was drinking, had no liscense, and was driving his brother's car. Bleh... still waiting on attornies to figure everything out and pay for my bike and my medical bills.
I know it doesn't make you feel any better, but at least you are in one piece and only $2k in the hole.

Sorry about this. Well, I dunno, but u might want to check the cars for dents and maybe black paint. That is if they don't have another car to go in...
, good thing my school has cameras in the parking lot. On top of that, I have a camera in my car to watch bros and chicks parking there car next to me. lol.
Anyways, best of luck in finding that person.

I mean, she/he had to touch the note, unless they were smart enough to use their clothes or gloves.

well actually, if i found out who did it, they would be persecuted for a hit and run, which in most states including Cali is a Felony...however, if they couldn't pay the damages, their insurance would then bill me...so i don't know if findin them is even worth it at this point....
My insurance covers hit and run, and will fully repair my car, but i still have to pay my big ___ deductible...($1100) but i guess comparitively, 1000 to fix 2-3K is alrite I guess. still leaves me with the problem of coming up with 1K.....:X

Same thing happened to me last year at CSUF. Make sure you have the police write a report so that you can give it to your insurance company. You'll still have to pay the deductable, but your rates shouldn't have to go up, because it was a hit and run.
