so how far north does so cal go? how far into the vally? to what town/city so i know where i "fit" in at

Is it how far north Socal goes or how south Norcal Goes? The "valley" to Socal people is the San Fernando valley. If you mean the San Jaquion (spelling??) that is a different matter. I would say Socal is everything south of the grapevine.

I've always thought of kern county as north-SoCal.

I agree, Kern County is north So Cal. It has been for as long as I can remember. I believe that Fresno, California is the cut off, so it is central california.

Agreed.

Kern County to me is the beginnings of Central California.
