So i currently live in san diego and i know there are currently no legal intakes for the tc. i also heard that cops in sd are pretty bad. but unless i get pulled over, will i really have any issues with an illegal intake? I have the hks hi-power exhaust but i dont think sound will be that big of an issue... also...does anybody know how much a ticket would be for the illegal intake / will my car be impounded? thanks for the help. this forum is the best!

 

I don't know how much things have changed since I went to
UCSD. But I used to get fix-it tickets all the time from the
police down there- ranging from exhaust, headers, lights, tint,
too low, intake, the list goes on. I once got a fix-it ticket 2
pages long listing every possible mod. If I remember it was
$5 or $10 fine to pay off the ticket. The funny thing is the
UCSD campus police have not a clue what is going on with
regards to car mods. So I take my car for sign off to them
completely UNCHANGED from the time I got the fix-it ticket.
And after awhile, after repeatedly getting these stupid
tickets which was a lot considering I was down there for 5
years, I just started signing them off myself and had no
problems.
