I'm surprised that places that are abandoned aren't cleaned out of all the stuff in there. By either the city, county or state officials.

Yes, the East coast wins on having more creepy/scary/haunted places than on the West coast

Yeah me too. But the cost of doing any work in there would be astronomical. Even a demolition would be hazardous. It's so bad for your health to go inside that no one wants to steal from it

sp8tc that is exactly the place. it's all fenced off around the perimeter of the property and again around the house itself.

infini - those pictures are amazing i would love to visit one of those places

i haven't heard much of the interior except by one of the windows there's a hole that goes down two stories. chelsds yeah haha the east has so much more history because it's been occupied longer. there's always something eerie about the east especially near battlefields and what not

yeah, i myself have been to the winchester mystery house. they give tours throughout the house and what not. its pretty cool. some of the rooms have one door to get in and three to get out, 2 of which lead to nowhere. stairs that go up to the ceiling. everything in that house revolves around the number 13, and lady winchester herself actually put an extra candle on a 12 candle chandelier just so it had 13, supposed to ward off evil spirits.

the story behind it was that her husband was the owner of winchester arms, or guns, and when he died all of the spirits of people whom have been killed by one of his guns came to haunt. she bought an old barn, refurbished it to live in, and just started to build and build and build some more. the mansion got up to 13 stories in the center, but do to an earthquake it got taken down. today it stands 8 stories tall.

Been there as well. It's a tourist attraction in San Jose. No fun at all for a photographer But it was fun to take the tour.

Ok.. lets not turn this in to a Knotts bashing/praising thread.

I think we should really find some haunted places locally in the southland and make a meet out of it. A few people at a time as to not attract unwanted attention should the place be uh... closed to the less gutsy people :O

theres also an old mill in old town murrieta that has been ventured into many times. though now theres a fence surrounding the entire thing, and the lower doors and windows have been concreted up. its been rumored that late in the night when you gaze up into the middle top window, you can see a young girl wearing a light blue dress.
