I'm still ____ed off at Longo for refusing to give me a free oil change WITH THE PROPER MOTOR OIL. The 2007 tC's require 5w-20 oil or 0w-20 oil.

You guys wanted to charge me money to use THE CORRECT TYPE OF OIL. What the hell is the point of a FREE OIL CHANGE????? Sure, you 5w-30 oil will work, but you might as well deflate my tires too, while you are at it!!!!

What now? Are you going sell new cars and fill the gas tank up with water and charge extra for gas????

This situation was never resolved and even though I filed a complaint, it was never attended to. Boo, Longo, boo. . . that's some serious shadiness.

And I'm no punk kid. I've purchased two new cars (both Scions) over the past three years, and was planning to buy my TRD Supercharger from you (to be fair, your dealership has a nice presentation).

But it's not about the presentation, it's about the customer service.

I never even got an apology out of Longo. . . so I will do everything in my power to take away business from you. (Just search, there are plenty of posts I have already written).

I paid $20,000 for a car, and I can't BELIEVE that a dealership would cheat me out of some friggin motor oil!!!!

I apologize. That will be my last off topic post. I'll keep everything else to PM's. Nobody reads the experiences section, so if anybody decides to do service and/or buy parts, I'd like them to consider my experience and think twice.

I'm a seasoned member on SL and have owned 2 Scions. Even if this situation is not resolved, at least maybe (just maybe ) they'll think twice about trying to charge $18 for a few liters of 5w-20 (which costs them what? $.50 more than 5w-30). . . and if this happened to me, it's happening to ALL 2007 model cars that require 5w-20(think of all the Camry's, Highlanders, Solara's, Tc's, etc.

I wonder if they're even pumping premium or regular unleaded into new car tanks.

ok. . . that's the end of my threadjack. Sorry.

Default Longo Toyota-Scion Response

As the Service Director for Longo Toyota-Scion, I’d like to respond to the issue brought up by ScionLife’s online guest, djct watt.

First, I want to apologize for his trouble and admit our mistakes. Unfortunately, djct watt did in fact receive poor service from us in connection with the oil weight used in his oil changes. This forum is the first place we learned of the errors, and we have contacted djct watt immediately in order to make things right.

We will provide djct watt with two free oil changes (with the correct oil weight) & a gift certificate. We sincerely regret the mistake and will work to earn his trust back.

I think our reputation in Southern California, and the fact that we have been the country's #1 Toyota dealership for 40 years, and #1 Scion dealer for nearly 4 years, speaks to our philosophy of customer service.
