Default MPG in Los Angeles

The combined effects of our fair cities trademark traffic snarls and cali's wonderfully formulated gas makes getting the best MPG out of our cars a real test.

What have you been getting in your ride? What kind of driving do you do? Where in LA?

I'm SURE MPG has been discussed in the regional fourm before, but search on this site is tough to optimize, so lets remain civil and see if we can't collect a nice set of data.

I, for one, have only run 2 tanks though my 06 xA around town (another 3 on a roadtrip up north) and have been getting about 23MPG. I'm driving an 8-mile commute along Highland or La Brea, trying to shift at 2300RPMs, with some (very) occasional highway cruising at 75MPH. I burn 87 octane Chevron and am mechanically stock.

I'm averaging 25 MPG in my tC 5 speed exclusively on Chevron 87, I drive 50/50 city/highway.
