Default My baby is totaled

so on may 30th i was waiting for the light to turn green .... lady's legs went numb and jumped the center island crossed the intersection then slammed into a tahoe, my xA, and finally hit a kia head on. so now my insurance told me its going to be around 4 months to settle anything. thing is it was our only car, but we dont know weather to buy a new car now or later. because we dont want to end up paying for two cars and one that is totaled. any advise please contact me. im depressed about losing my baby. im also frustration and angry its going to take soo long. is there anything i can do? both our parents are telling us to hire a lawyer but we are scared its going to cost us even more.

glad you're in once piece, but listen to the 'rents. Get a lawyer. 4 months? are they nuts? (then again she could have lousy insurance)

listen to ur parents get a lawyer but one that will work with you... what i mean by that is i had an accident a long time ago where this stupid lady pulled out in front of us and we t-boned her. the lawyer we got told us not to worry bout his fee's that he will include it in the lawsuit so we would not have to pay anything out of pocket hey would take it from the settlement... in the end i got over 3k, my bill paid and 3 months paid chiropractic visits.

Whoa. Glad you're all okay! If you don't want to get a replacement car just yet, you can rent a car for now. Usually rentals are included in insurance coverages. BUT better make sure first w/ your insurance company.

Good luck. Hope you get everything settled soon.

X2, time for a xD but really i think it is totalled and a 4 month wait just isn't easy when you have only 1 car which is no longer able to move you around. hopefully all gets taken care of the right way and soon.

GET A LAWYER...

Get one that specializes in accidents, and that doesnt make you pay anything unless you win your case, even then the money you pay them comes out of you're settlement. Go to the doctors and get checked out and make sure everything is ok....

Insurance should cover a rental and if it doesnt that can be included in your settlement as well...

good luck with everything.

ouch!! sorry about your car, but glad your ok...

I agree listen to your parents get a lawyer, but one that will work with you and doesn't take his sweet time... I was in a similar accident and the lawyer took almost 2yrs on the case and all he did was settle
