Mike ma congrats man....good ____ on the 1st. Now i know what you meant when you told me that stuff when we chatted....

 

Its just how it is! I went through it in 2008 when the XD didn't even start and the judges gave the XD credit points for a swap. Its ok I was the only Scion in the whole complete country in 2009 to win 2 x HIN Scion Unlimited awards. San mateo, and Pleasanton! Really sucks that the HIN brand isn't like it use to be!

I agree with Matt on this. Quit your whining and move on. ALL shows are like that. Some judges like it but another will hate it.

Too bad I couldn't make it out to see some of the dope rides and intercoolers that are not connected.

And just like mywifesbox said, a judge at this show may think your car is the ____ and a different judge at another show may think you car is a POS. That's the way life is, QQ.

 

I agree.....things happen....some judges will love your car but as Matty said, some judges think it sucks.....move on.....

 

Man go to shows..especially the ones to chill, have fun and enjoy the event. If you're going there expecting to win, then ur just setting urself up for a big disappointment. If u win great, if u loose less mess u'll have to put in the garage. haha

Like Matty, Ross, myself and most of the guys from Island Motorsports and Midnight Garage, we just display and watch the eye candy. No headaches and no worries from all the car politics at the shows.

well I remember back when Scion owners didnt care about car shows and winning It was more about the get together, free food, free giveaways, and more free food. what happend to us? So Cal especially? Egos built up and so much air in the heads that wouldnt fit through the Lincoln Tunnel.

Big shows are cool to go to and be a part of it. Winning or losing I've always had fun minus the heat if any.

Although I do understand where Bill is coming from. Understand that he isnt mad about losing, its the fact of being lied to. I know Bill personally and he's not a kid that just started showing and dumped a crap load of funds in a car and wham ready to show. All he is stating is be fair and be honest. People have invested money and showed support for the event by being a part of it. Now where he stands along with others that have participated in the past may not be there to invest hard earned money into events like this anymore.

For those that won, congrats to you all. No one is trying to take your thunder and praise from the event.

i so agree with this statement.

 

form function and style are key factors in many peoples opinion about show cars. not saying the xA is bad now but has a lot of useless clutter in the engine bay. all 3 cars that placed this past weekend had forced induction. hell 1st place had a full swap of a turbo motor, had it built, AND had a turbo upgrade. the judges prolly looked at which one was the most difficult to replicate also in terms of rarity. Mike's xD's swap hands down is a one off and no ones done that swap since.

i honestly liked the xA a hell of a lot better when fred owned it



the car looks more timeless and classy not so all over the place

...but hey what do i know, im just the big wookie in the room...
