So its raining here in cali. Usually I wudnt mind but I just installed my injen cai on friday. Now driving here in the vally you never know when you're gonna run into a car vs puddle match. Its a fight I'd rather not tackle. Well the beauty of the injen is that its also a SRI. So after four days....its time to chop that sucker up. Shudda bought a bypass valve....
driving my car at like 12AM when it was raining hard (bad idea since i'm turbo'd) i didnt push the car or anything but it ran stupid. i jumped on the 22E to 57N and my car felt stupid and smoke coming out but everything was reading fine. first time i drove my car in the rain since it was turbo'd. lesson learned ALWAYS take your gf's car out. i'm hoping it starts still lol
I was fine. I am from the east coast and have allot of driving in the rain time under my belt. I have directional tires + Axis brakes w/ Slotted and drilled rotors. I did REALLY well tonight keeping control of my car when the 10E was flooding and cars were getting stuck. I drove defensively and said a prayer
My biggest worry was the So Cal drivers to be honest. I saw all these people trying to pull the same poop in the the rain they do all the time and boy was it scary! I mean people cutting people off, tailgating, speeding and jumping lanes
while it was pouring out!
Not that people don't do that everywhere at some point. However I have never seen so much of it till I moved to LA. Some chick was smoking a cigarette and on her Cell phone up in her face!

chop it by getting a dremel...jk lol. the injen can switch over to a short ram. i did it this morning. it might not rain much but the part of the valley i live in tends to flood...A LOT. we sometimes even get news vans coming down to check the flooding. id rather be safe than sorry.
it happens when cold water touches hot car parts. It even comes out of your exhaust when you start your car on a cold morning. it's called steam. it can come from anywhere. ;)
btw, drive through a large enough puddle with a CAI while on the gas and you will hydrolock/blowseals/blow fuses.
I coasted through large puddle once and hit the gas right after i got out of it...sucked a bit of water in and blew every sensor up to the header..
blew the fuel pressure sensor, maf, primary o2,...it was pretty much one of the most awesome experiences i've ever had.
