I don't think all of it is stolen stuff. Its just that when you swap the motor, the VIN # of the motor wont match the car's VIN and cops automatically think that its stolen. You just have to provide proof that the motor was bought legit.
An example of this would be at HIN San Mateo where cops were checking every car that rolled into the show and they pulled an Eclipse to the side cause it had been painted several times and the VIN #'s were covered. They started taking apart the car and couldn't find the VIN so it was towed and impounded. The guy then showed the cops his pink slip and etc. but they said something like they couldn't do anything. I dunno whats happened lately about this story.
