Fellow Scion owners and race enthusiasts, we need to act to protect one of the last places we can race legally. All owners, clubs and teams please help by going to the meeting, writing a letter, or at least an email!
[mods - sticky until June 20, please?]

Dear Friends,
On Wednesday June 20th the Palmdale City Council will meet at 7pm
City Council Chambers, 38300 Sierra Highway, Suite B Palmdale, CA 93550
We need everyone to show up and help us Save LACR, this could be our
Last Stand! If the City of Palmdale doesn't step in and stop the digging by Granite Construction the mining of LACR will start again on July 30th!! If
Granite Construction is allowed to take the next 300 feet like they plan
to, LACR Is FINISHED.
If LACR closes it will put more racers back on the streets, causing more
deaths more causalities and loss of property. It will take away another
Drag Strip from the racing community that want's to have a Safe and
Legal place to race. It will impact local community resources by having
more Sheriffs answering calls regarding Street Racing, when they could
be handling more serious crime.
Closing LACR will also impact the local economy as well, by stopping the
influx of racers and fans that stay in our Local Motels, shop at our
Local Markets, eat at our Local Restaurants and buy gas at our Local Gas
Stations.
We need everyone to come to the City Council Meeting next Wednesday June 20th at 7pm and show your support for LACR.
If for some reason you can not show up there is something else you can
do.
We have made some really good friends and allies out there in our local
government, one of them is Michael D Antonovich, the Los Angeles County
Supervisor that heads up our district.
I just got off of the phone with his office, they were very gracious and
said we that can write letters of our concern and send them directly to
him either by mail, fax or via their on line e-mail form.
Here is his information.
LA County Supervisor 5th District
Michael D Antonovich
1113 W. Ave M-4, Suite A

Fax (661) 942-5069
Below is a link to their on line e-mail form.

One thing to remember is that you do not need to live in the 5th
district in order to write him, all you need to have is the concern and
the passion to help save one of the last Drag Strips in Southern
California which is not only a landmark but part of the racing
communities cultural history.
Tell your Friends. The Media has already told us that they will be there
to cover the meeting.
