I just got home from teh Scion Backstage event at the OC fairgrounds. Id liek to thanks cion for allowing us to drive the new xB on thier course and see how hard we could push it in cornering and acceleration. Honesty its nice to be able to chirp the tires on a stock xB with an auto. transmission. If you're in the OC area and want to check it out tomorrow starting at 5pm go to www.scionbackstage.com and register!.. the password to get into the sit is "roadie" Thanks again Scion for puttin gon a well organized fun & informative event.

i heard one of the xB inside the tent caught on fire.

the people there said it was due to the power generators that allow people to use the lights, windows, radios and all other electrical goodies while the car is turned off.

hopefully no one got hurt.

it was more that the power supply grounded out is what i heard..

lots of smoke.... i saw when it first came up.... pretty much went...

"uh oh..... that's not good...."

lots of soot and residue.. but they took the car out, cleaned the area and the car up... and put it back. everything's fine except for parts of the engine bay still dirty.

lol yup.. right when i first got ehre.. standing in line for registration they were doing somethign under the hood.. then a lot of smoke, burning leectrical smell and sparks shooting out from the battery area.. . they actually pushted the car to the back. cleaned it up and got it back out within about an hour or so.. still smelled nice.. lol.. i have a picture of the smoke and all right after they put hte fire out.. s**t happens.. esp with pre production cars ..

all in all funnn event.. i pushed the new xb to the limit.. i had the vsc beeping the whole drive.. pushing it around corners.. its actually a strange feeling to feel the brakes come on and slow down the car and keep it under controla nd on the intended path.. .. i thik the 1st gen has the same thing.. but i never push my own car like that.. lol... but when it was all done.. u gotta lvoe the smell of burning rubber.. lol..

the hats were given to those that participated in the scion owner's stage presentation.

the t-shirts were given as prizes to winners to the scionic challenge trivia game in the qualifying rounds as well as for other things.

and as for as the bag of goodies? you get that just by coming.

selling shwag? pfft... never! lol.
