Default Scion Xa problem.

Ok so I just bought a scion Xa. It's an 05 with 102k+ miles. I've had it for about a week now and had no problems with it. Today though I pulled into a gas station and when I started the car, it started but the dash was off, check engline light came on and the windows wouldn't work and my radio sounded like it was dying out then died out. The transmission locked and had to use the manual button to shift it into gear. [It's an automatic] When I started it up again after work, it had trouble starting up but a slight tap on the gas and it started up. I'm guessing it's the battery, I had no problems driving it home aside from all the electrical problems. Anyone know what it could really be? I'd take it for a diagnostics but yea, it's either do that or buy a new battery.

Thanks!

if your ABS, CEL, came on and the radio died you need a new battery ASAP

Thanks for the input guys.

ohhh man chicken, saw the post too late. haha. anyways, ok so I found out THE problem. I got a new battery and alternator so that fixed that. Now whenever I go into reverse, the fuse for the gauges and windows go out. I've gone through 3 fuses testing it out. With a new fuse, I can have it on drive for quite some time but once I put the mother on reverse and press the gas, it all goes out. Is there an easy way to fix it or should I just go to a mechanic?
