4. All cars must continue in SINGLE LANE for TWO MILES
5. Spacing between cars must be NO MORE than TWO CAR LENGTHS
6. No WEAVING, STUNT DRIVING, or ERATIC MOVES
With the Washington State Patrol and the Washington State Department of Transportation, we will be shutting down the express lanes of the main east-west corridor of the state on I-90. They are originally giving us 3 hours but we are in talks to increase this time as we may have such a large number of cars for this event.
Pre-staging will happen on Mercer Island (location TBA) where everyone will be registered and numbered. We will then allow the cars to individually enter the freeway via the HOV entrance off the island. Everyone will make it to the west bound side of the lanes (before it merges back into the Seattle traffic). We will again line everyone up and remind them of the rules.
There will be media on hand (aerial, photography, and journalists) so please be on your best behavior!!!
If you want to be involved as a sponsor or know someone who does, please send an email to scionparade@teamascension.org.
Everyone will receive a Scion parade commemorative record-breaking take-away.
This event is a fund-raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Washington Chapter. Remember, the Pacific Northwest has three times the rate of occurrence than anywhere else in the WORLD. We are asking for people to give donations as they are lead.
We are also lining up a kick-butt after party with more information to come!
Like I said...this is preliminary info to get it on your calendars. More will come out and this thread will be updated. Promotional flyers will be created and passed out in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia through events and dealerships starting in April.
REMEMBER THIS POST WILL CHANGE CONSTANTLY WITH UPDATED INFORMATION SO CHECK https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=216046 OFTEN!!!

Hello all,
Good & bad news...
Bad news - Due to construction delays, the Washington State DOT can’t let us use the I-90 corridor because of a contractor which is behind schedule on completing work on the east gate to the express lanes. Until the construction is done, the contractor legally “owns” the road. Due to weather delays because of snow and rain this winter and spring they are behind schedule and are uncertain to finish in time for our event (their current completion date estimate is June 19th). In order to mitigate the risk of not having an event at all because of their delays we have started working with the various state & city agencies to reschedule this event to a time in which we won’t have construction issues. Unfortunately, to find a location long enough for us to permit and close on the same date has proven unsuccessful in all of the surrounding counties.
Good news - We are currently finalizing this event to be rescheduled for late August. The good part about this is that it gives us:
a) Great weather!!!
b) Currently working on a bigger & better event that will knock your socks off!!!
c) Gives us more time to organize greater features!!!
d) Allows for more people to attend!!!
We apologize for any inconvenience and are working hard with the various state and city agencies to permit out the new date. More information will come out once those permits are issued.
Everyone who has previously pre-registered will receive an email today regarding these new developments. As soon as the ink is dry on the new event date registrants will receive another email and information will be posted up here. If anyone has any questions, please PM or email me (coreyann@teamascension.org).
Thank you for your understanding!
