Is there anyway to make a cold air intake that is made for the 05-06 tc fit on a 09 tc. it is the fujita cai.

You'd have to do some custom fabbing. The MAF flanges are different.

You'd be better off just getting a CAI for the correct year.

The only reason i was asking was i found a really cheap NIB fujita cai for the 05-06 tc. After doing some more research i found that the only difference is the MAF i did find an adapter online the is made to fit the 05-06 MAF to the 09 sensor.

http://randode.com/store/intake.html

Though i think id rather just buy the correct one but it looks like it would work.

Bro...hit me up with a PM.... I actually made a solid patch for mine doing the same thing. I took all the mods off my 06 tC before I sold it and installed them on my new 08 tC. and one of those parts was an 06 Injen CAI
If you're serious about buying that one...then PM me...and the cost is dirt cheap for the CAI...b/c in order to make it work you WILL need a MAF sensor off of an 05-06 tC. Which generally isnt cheap. I happened to have one b/c I was making the switch on both tC's at the same time. This swap mod can be done...but unless you're getting the part cheaper than hell....listen to the rest on here and buy the correct one for your year of tC. You will have a lot less headaches.

For what it's worth...here's the pic off of my SL profile of this mod finished on my 08 tC....

I think I would've look harder for something like that if I hadn't already had the 06 MAF sensor and harness already in my possession.

That's a cool piece though.

Well just for kicks I installed the 05-06 Fujita CAI on my 09 tC and used the MAF adapter from randode.com. Everything lined up and installed just fine except the mounting bracket was about an inch off. I drove about 200 miles on it and never got a CEL. It sounds amazing and can feel some more lower end power. So this setup will work if you dont mind drilling a new hole for mounting purposes.

you think its just for the Fujita CAI you had to drill a new hole?

Im going on 500 miles right now with my 05-06 fujita CAI on my 09 tC and still no CEL. Mine is not ziptied on though lol. I got the adapter from randode.com, fits great, looks cool. As for the hole i drilled I have no idea if its only for the fujita CAI. my guess would be that it is because you would think theyd use the same mounting holes for the stock intake on the 05 as the 09.... but then again you would think theyd use the same size MAS. So no i am not sure if it is for only the fujita intake.

haha iv gone bout 500 miles or so too.
im trying to get a hold of one of my local buddies who has a 05 with a trd intake which comes with the same sensor as the 09s i think... or thats what he has on it anyways haha... it was used.
But he has his stock sensor somewhere which should work for my intake if im not mistaken.
I know its not a very good move but it works for now... until i can swap sensors.

iv got like a rubber gasket looking thing and it seals off just fine. no problems from it yet... keyword is yet tho
