I haven't sent flyers out, but I did post on this site around the 9th of this month. As you can see we had to change the date to Aug 5th. This one's gonna be bigger than last year. U gonna make it?

Thanks for posting our event on stlscion's website. This should be a great time. Reminder to everyone that there are pretty cheap hotel rates at the motel 6 in Marion.

 

Hey guys, I've been having a problem signing in...long story. Anyway YES the meet is still on. It's at Marion Scion on Aug 5th from 5 until 8.

I called around for some better hotels rates and found the absolute lowest rate around. Motel Marion (61 993-2101. Their rates are $29.50/night. The catch is they don't take reservations and they rent most of their rooms at a weekly rate. They said call on Thursday Aug 3rd to check availability. I've stayed here before back in high school. The price was right for us then because we all had some extra money to get more adult beverages. Room review: From what I remember the door locks, there's a bed, and hot water. Located close to Int 57 with a Dairy Queen right next door. There's a bar within walking distance that stays open until 2:00. Bonus for single men (or pretty much most guys breathing air), the bartendar that works on Sat night is a knockout!

A step up from the Marion Motel is the Marion Gray Plaza Hotel (61 993-2174. I negotiated a price of $35.99/night for 2 dbl beds if 5 or more rooms are reserved together. The regular rate for 2 persons is $39.99. They do take reservations.

Another step up and a more well known place is the Motel 6 (61 993-2631. It is higher at $45.99/night but they take reservations and wash their sheets after every stay- lol.

I'm going to post more details about the event on Monday.

 

Alright Jon, I'm in. Is there going to be a roll call soon on this? I didn't see anything in the Great Lakes forum but I know a few guys from over Evansville are planning on rolling in. This motel sounds like a flea bag but what the hell if the roaches are too thick I can always stretch out in the box.
