i think most of these are held at the car shows..the last one was at kcir and i think one of the scion members here won..

 

Lots of car show have SPL I know... But so do car audio store have SPL Drags too... That is what I'm looking for starting in March or April... So If your home town audio store, has a SPL Drag let me know....

 

its sorta impossible to find em. slamology has them; quincy illinois and stl missouri are supposed to have usaci this summer and believe a place in wisconsin was doing it once a month; but other than that they stick to lower states i believe other than local shops in big cities.......beleive me i've looked. spl used to be huge in my area

hopefully the cedar rapids scion sow will have again because it was nice to actually have one; they used to be one every weekend back when i was in hs (before i had anything at all) and now its no where. my buddy has a meter and tlaking about setting up a show this summer so i'll let ya know what comes of that

 

hey phat tc, go to www.soundoff.org/usaci.htm there are some shows on there that might be in your area. also check out caraudio.com/forum there is a bunch of shows in the SD/Milwaukee area and a few in iowa listed on one site. (the site will be listed on the caraudio.com/forum its something about midwest spl or something like that)

Best Buy ran a series of these through Iowa two years ago. I'm not sure if they were planning on doing that again, but if you were curious you could always call them up.

We won't have one at the All Scion Show this year because I can't have the vehicles moving around after we park them (not gonna be enough room indoors to park and drive). I'm not sure if Cisco is putting a show together this year or not for CR.

The nearest one will be on May 3rd at KCIR, they will have DB drags. I also know that NW Audio in platte city has them all the time, you might want to look them up.

 

There used to be an event back in the late 90s called ISUC. The competition was to get the best possible sound quality with the least amount of dosh. The event was great... Too bad it's not been done since 2000.

 

Most of the sound quality competitions have pretty much left the KC area, they are rare if you find them. I think Loud and Clear still does them, but SQ is mostly dead. DB drags are all over, trick is finding them.

the paulie's one i did this weekend..... be prepared to stand around and be bored all day long. started almost 1.5 horus late, took forever to do stuff, didnt end up leaving until about 7:30

 

Sorry to hear that..... Were their lots of cars... What where the sound levels like....

 

there was about 40 or so. car levels were like low 140's, there were 3 vans there that were wall'd. one was from iowa (dont remember where rowland was from) his amp was turned down cuz kept going into protective mode and was hitting 160s in street beat and burped a 163 for spl, the pink van hit like a 161 but couldn't keep door shut (kept blowing unlatched). last year's stock 0-600 champion crx was there along with their other crx and explorer. both crx's hit 154.4 and 154.3 (husband wife competeing against each other). and one guy hit a 148 average in street beat 2 (peaked at 149.1)
