hey i just bought a 2007 tC last week with the factory stereo but i noticed the bass output is pretty weak, what do you guys recommend for sub installation. i just want a 10" and to keep my factory unit and speakers.

 

Best possible scenerio for a 10" sub.

I have this same setup in my car. JL Audio 10w3v3 with a JL Audio 250/1 Amplifier. You can have a bass **** added for around $20. There are some blanks on the driver side for the security flasher, fog lights and whatever elce you want to install. I think there is a total of four. I reccomend putting the bass **** there for a clean look. Also, only you will be able to control it. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

You are in the tC I have built 100 times on the configurator. Super White with ground effects, pedestal spoiler, and the exhaust. The only other thing would be the tail lights! Are you gonna go to S3 to show it off?

 

Elemental Designs is coming out with a slim 10 that replaces the styrafoam "cubby" under the passenger side of the hatch. I am looking at that as a possibility in my car eventually so I can have bass as well as my whole trunk.

 

yeah i bought my tc at molle in kc but the tailights weren't in yet...they came in this week so i'm probably going to get those as well. i also have a razo gt shift **** being shipped. when and where is the S3 show?

 

hey do you have your sub in a regular box or is it custom fit for your scion, and did you bolt your amp on your box or under your passenger seat like a lot of people.

 

S3 is in Springfield on OCT 22. It is going to be pretty big.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Scion yet. I have the sub in the trunk of my car and it sounds excellent. It is in an enclosed box because I like the tight controlled sound for the bass. It will sound really sick in a tC with all of that open air space. Ported sub boxes give you more bass, but dont sound as clean. I recommend JL Audio because it has a 2 year warranty with it, also most places that install it will give you a lifetime installation warranty. I have not heard anything as clean as JL yet.

How much were you planning to spend?

I do not recommend bolting the amp on the box. It makes it easier to steal EVERYTHING. If your amp is mounted to the car, it is harder to steal. Let's face it, the cost of a good amp usually exceeds the cost of the subwoofer it it powering.

 

I am going to buy my sub today, i'm replacing my blown kicker l7 ported box with two 12'' polk audio DB212 subs in a polk box custom made for those subs. My question is, how do you go about tuning the amp and headunit so it sounds good and loud but not to loud it will blow it again?
