Welcoming our new Scion Champ
Hey guys, unfortunatly Jay Nash is no longer with our dealership and I finally got my way and they let me choose the replacement that I wanted. So from now on our new Scion Champion at the dealership will be Ryan Miller, under the screen name kcryan, so welcome him at the events for me. Ryan and I are already working on some fun stuff for this spring and I will be putting on some cool Truck events as well, Horberg and Alex be nice... you to Shayn.
Hey! I'm NICE! Just ask your Mom...oh, I didn't say that. Horberg, edit that would you?
Kiddin' man.
Welcome Ryan! It's a good group here in the KC region. As long as you ignore all advice from Mo you will be fine.
Hit me up if you need anything. Will we see you in Chicago?
Good luck and again, welcome to the team.

Okay, I'm going to go out on the proverbial limb of ignorance here and ask exactly what a Scion Champ is. I've seen reference to it in other posts before, but never could find out exactly what it was. Can anybody help out this hick-town guy and bless me with your knowledge? The reason I ask is because it sounds like a really cool position to hold and wondered what it takes to become one.
A Scion Champion is the guy or girl at your local dealership that is usually in charge of everything Scion. They are usually very knowlegable about everything Scion. They are put in charge of all of the Scion covenance and sales. All of the events that everyone goes to are usually planned and worked by a Scion Champion.
The "Scion Champion" position is something that was rolled out about 15 months ago. The idea was to have somebody in each Scion dealership be appointed as the "go-to" person for all things Scion. That's about the only universal explanation. The actual position, its duties, and the pay plan varies GREATLY between dealerships.
Personally, I am still required to sell cars like a normal sales guy. Others do JUST Scion stuff and still others only sell Scions.
Some Champions are required to do a set amount of events each month/quarter/year. Some are there to track sales and ensure that the covenant is followed. Some even run the dealership's Scion website. Some of us do ALL of that (and sell cars).
So, easy job? Not really. Fun job? Pretty much yeah. It really helps if you are an owner too. That's never been a requirement that I've seen, but the best Scion Champions that I know are owners themselves and have that first hand knowledge.
Um, that's a general overview. If it's something you really want to pursue, drop me a line and we can talk.

Congrat to you Ryan. Are you going to Chicago?
The Scion Champion thing is a good gig if you have support from your fellow employees and you are not affraid to call other Champions for help and advice. Also one other requirement to the position - Wreakless Acts Against Your Liver. All of us Champ's in the KC region like to get our drink on.

ive been working at my dealership for 3 mos and have no idea if we have a scion champion. we have a truck champion. part of the reason they hired me was because i knew more than anyone there and i embrace the scion lifestyle.
Scion Champion is for dealers here in our region, KS, MO, NE, IA, ND, SD This is an idea that the region backs. Talk with your scion rep in your area to see if they would back something like we do.
