Guys with Black Cherry Pearl Scions.....
Guys i gotta admit i felt wierd after driving this car off the lot although when i was looking at it i liked the color, the reason for me buying this color TC was the dealership told me 8 months for any other color but after i modded it up, it completely changed my mind. Anyone else out there that kinda felt skeptical at first before buying their scion because of the color but then changed their mind?

i waited quite a while to get a BCP...i started to regret how hard it is to get clean, but I love the depth of the color.
It's tough to keep clean, but it encouraged me to learn how to really take care of the car's exterior.
IMO, there are a couple of different colors that look really good with it, depending on whether you're talking exterior, interior or engine bay.

come on up to parker sometime, and I'll detail your car for you...you'll be surprised. ask frosty...

The rarity of the color, as well as the way it stands out in both bright and low lighting definitely offsets the occassional "Is that car purple?" question when under weak flourecent lights.
believe it or not, that is not a fresh wax job. I ended up getting pulled out to a club meeting the night before, and washed it in a u-spray-it, using the '3 bucket' method. I normally wash in my driveway, but it was the middle of the night, and that was the only place i could think of that had (even minimal) light.
I try to wax every other week, and was due for it for this show. I strip and clay every oil change. I normally put on mequiars nxt tech wax, buff that off, and hit it with mother's caranuba, buff that off, and go one more time with mother's polish. A friend of mine recently reccomended mother's 'reflections', and with the one time i've done it, it seems that I may be able get away with just one coat of that stuff. Seems like very nice wax. I didn't strip it before applying, so there may be some other factors at work here.
I've never washed and/or waxed a car as much as i do this one. All my previous vehicles were either white or silver, and i just didn't know what i was getting into with this color. My first few washes, i was absolutely unable to get the car 'clean', with water spots everywhere, and that frustration drove me to find and refine a process of detailing the box.
