I'm thinking about running down to Texas for a meet down there this up comming weekend. WHO'S WITH ME! ...lol

 

here's the route I could see us taking. Baseline, it's a 12 hour drive, but I know for darn sure I couldn't do that non-stop, so we'd need to plan some good way-points.

I think that was kinda the route we were thinking.
I think we were planning to leave Denver early Friday morning and leaving Iowa Sunday afternoon returning late Sunday night.

One hell of a drive though.

I think I'm gonna go.. If I do go I will stop by council bluffs, IA to do some gambling. Then I will hit Meadow Park Horse track (and casino) while im in Ames..

 

Schwetty you know I'm down with the gambling! ;)

 

We also have Prairie Meadows racetrack and casino just to the east of Des Moines (in Altoona). Pretty nice place. You can go gambling there if you get bored while up here for the show.

Anyway, Ames to Greeley is about 9.5 hours door to door doing 5-10 over the whole way. I'm betting Ames to Denver is about the same because you get to run I-76 all the way out of Denver and the limit is higher there.

I've done the drive quite a bit since moving out to Iowa and although it's long (and can be boring through NE), you forget about it once the party starts!
