What’s your plan, contract, included min/text/web, how much a month?
My boss is shutting down all of our cell phones, so I have to get one of my own after 3 years. Supper bummed they all look like its going to be ~ 100$ a month.

I use sprint, got two phones (HTC Pro for me & Instinct wifey) and used to pay $130 for the simply everything plan. GPS, Unlimited text, unlimited internet, ect. and 1500 mins. When I upgraded the phones (Palm Centro & katana II) the girl at the store told me to call sprint and tell them that I was told that it was $99 instead of $130 and got it changed. Truth be told I love my phone and all but I would not recommend it to the average Joe. It is Windows based and can be hacked beyond ur imagination. I don't have to pay for "phone as modem" for my laptop ($45 currently), cuz I hacked the phone to think that it is just using the phone internet instead. My current download speeds are between 1.7Mps and 2.4Mps, which is like DSL and my uploads are between 300Kps and 400Kps.
I use it in my home network, I can access any of my computers at home and even access the phone from my playstation 3. I can watch my Dish Network while I drive to and from work on my Avic-D3 through my phone using Slingbox HD Pro or in my phone. There are soo many things u can do with this phone is not even funny, it puts the iphone and Blackberry to shame. There are even hacks to change ur priority in the network, say for instance any contract is going to be between 7 and 9 in the priority list. U can change it to something as low as 2 and u will always have the right over any other call. BTW 0 and 1 is for emergency agencies only.
When it comes to phones look for whatever is going to fulfill ur needs, function over form. Sprint has been great with me and the main reason I have stayed with them is their internet speeds and unlimited access for cheap. Soon there will be faster companies like Verizon, but that will be like 1 1/2 down the road.

i have a blackberry pearl and sidekick slide.
i like sidekicks alot, but aslogn as its not the slide lmao! servcie on mine sux bad it always loses service and F's up. if u get the LX or the new Sidekick 2008? or watever its called those are better. service much better, LCD is awesome. and pretty cheap its 36 a month for me including insuracne so if it wasnt for that id only pay 28 for the SK plan. and fone wise its not bad either, jus the only downfall is the internet. yeah it works really well but theres alot of sites that wont work etc etc.

I had T-Mobile with a Blackberry Pearl, but recently switched to Verizon and got the Blackberry Storm.
I don't know what the usual rate is since I get a discount on my plan through my work. I get unlimited everything (text, web, etc.) for under $90 p/month now, on a contract.
Good luck with choosing! There are so many plans to choose from, and so many options in phones too. If I had to pay for my plan without any discounts, I would probably go with the "no contract" deals that T-Mobile has out now, just so I could switch it out whenever I want.

ive got Verizon, and a blackberry curve. I used to have a sidekick and I can definitely say the Curve is a huge upgrade and is cheap now with verizon. I pay $80/month for unlimited data and 700mins.

Oh, and if you want a used Blackberry Pearl for use with T-Mobile, I have two of them I'd be willing to part with (my pearl-white one in mint condition, and my husband's black one with a few dings on the edges, but screen looks fine still). They would come with the chargers, cases, etc.

Steve, the sidekick is a good overall phone, i carried on for over 4 years (sk2, sk3, sklx) and i can tell you if you want pretty good web, great IM support, your phones own email address, and a great keyboard.....it'll work great. if you gab on the phone all day, love your bluetooth headset, or think phones shouldnt be bigger than a pack of cards.....it may not be the phone for you. Go with the LX or 2008, the bluetooth support sucks hard, but that was about my only gripe with my LX. The "slidekick" or sidekick slide is made by motorola, not sharp......avoid it at all costs
