I have the Hotchkis front strut bar (red one from RS1.0) and I was wondering if it is the same as the TRD one. Same size/color etc.

 

TRD does not make a front sway bar, only rear. Do you mean strut bar?

 

there is not trd front sway bar for the tc.

and it is not recommended to combine the hotchkis sway bars with other sway bars, something about snap oversteer.

Hotchkis was contracted to make the first strut bar for the tC because TRD couldn't get them out in time. Then half way through 2005 TRD finally produced their own, almost exact and raised the price.

So yes they are practically the same thing.

 

aight, so I'll keep the hotchkis strut bar because it's rarer. (rarer?...that doesn't sound right. More rare? yes, there it is. More rare)

the TRD is green isn't it? so not only is the hotchikis rarererererererererererererer it's not green.

Actually the TRD strut bar has been both it was red origianlly and then after they released the rs 3.0 xB the changed the strut bar to envy green

 

i've only ever seen the green one and, it was off of a car. maybe thats the xB one. dunno.

I have the envy green on my car And when I had it added to my car I asked if i could get the red one since that's what was listed in the accessories brochure and i got told that they changed the color to the envy green when they brought out the rs3. That they could still get it for me but it would be about a week. I declined and now i am green. The strut bar from tc to xb is diff and that one when i checked price for my cousin last month was still red. but looks like the green one
