Window tinting dilemma
So, I just moved to CO, so I'm kinda new to the laws and stuff here. I took my 08 tC to get the windows tinted today at this place that I heard was the best in Boulder. On the phone I said I wanted "the darkest legal tint i could have," which to my understanding is 27%. He said ok and I set up an appointment.
So I went, dropped the car off, the guy who I spoke with on the phone wasn't there but the young lady assured me I could leave my car and he'd call me. So I did. When I went back a few hours later, the car was ready but it had been done in all 35% tint. He explained that with the 35% film that the light passing through the tint and the window was equaling out to around 27%.
I dunno... I'm just wondering if most places would've done 27% film, or if you get ticketed around here for having 27% tints on a sports car? I guess I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this, or if most people get 27%, or if the guy was just giving me a line? If so, do I go back and ask them to redo it as it wasn't exactly what I asked for? I'd feel kinda bad doing that... but I thought I'd ask around and see what everyone else has and what their experiences have been. Thanks!

That is the legal limit here, most people do a 5% or 15%. The cops usually dont tend to hassle for the tint. Ocassionaly you will get the one that will pull you over for and meter it. You could do darker and stay pretty unnoticed to the cops.

You can go with 5% on all the back windows legally, as long as the two front side windows and the windshield are still clear.
If you have any tint at all on the front sides, then you can't go darker than 27% on the rear windows...legally.
We have 5% all the way around (except the windsheild) and have had only one ticket so far...knock on laminated wood.

Yeah I thought about asking them to redo it, I dunno, I'd feel a little funny and I don't know if it would look as nice as the job they did on the 35's. I don't wanna get ticketed if a cop is having a bad day... the 35s are nice but i just wish they were a little darker!
