haha, good guess, carlos. unfortunately, when they replaced the s/c, they gave me the 07-08 pulley bolt. not only do you need a special key, but theres a tamper mark4 on it. i'd need a completely new bolt. im going to see if i can pull some strings to get a hold of one.

what i got might be even better, actually...

Man this whole issue with the header really blows. Oh and by the way, thanks for the help pete. Let me know what you find out and the price. I really appreciate it. I just really don't want to have to remove that s/c shaft....I know johnny is in the same boat now too.

not just the shaft, you'd have to remove the entire unit. as long as you torque everything to spec, you should be ok. did you find out what that noise was? or was it just your imagination? lol.

sry i had to leave peeps. have some clients in the building early tomorrow so i had to leave everything prepared.

Im pretty sure that noise was just my imagination lol. It got a little louder but nothing to worry about.

Oh and Denny, the problem with the header is

1) Getting the Heat Shield off
2) And then getting the header in because to drop it in from the top the shaft is in the way and on the bottom the oil return line is in the way.

hmm... on the pulley side of the SC, im assumeing that theres a bracket holding that side down? would it be possible to remove said bracket and angle the shaft upwards? or possibly loosening both sides without really disconnecting it?

nah, youd have to take it off completely. if you look at how the compressor side is bolted onto the tranny, you'll see what im talking about. at least im pretty sure you'd have to take it all off, cuz when they replaced my header after it blew, they took the whole thing off. but they were idiots, so maybe.

sounds like the easiest way would be to remove the oil return. block it off so oil doesnt leak out and thats it. you'll need less than half a quart. i have a little bit of mobil1 left if you need some after the install.
