I think it has more to do with heat dissipation. Than with stopping power.

I guess its sort of connected

The better the rotor cools, the cooler the brake fluid is I believe.

The cooler the brake fluid is, the stiffer the brakes feels. When the brake fluid gets too hot, the brakes feel squishy.

I asked jason a similar question the other day.
I believe he said its better to have one or the other. Not both.

I think the drilled one would have more heat dissipation than the slotted, obviously lol

I've also heard that the slotted, is bad for brake pads, but thats something I overheard. I haven't really read up on it. I guess its supposed to chop it up over time. Sort of like when you grate a block of cheese, to get those little strings of cheese. LMAO.

Between the two I would have to go with the drilled version.

drilled rotors and slotted do about the same, drilled are more prone to cracking around the holes long term, i've had it happen on my last car with brembo drilled rotors, especially in the florida heat. slotted eat brake pads faster but not by much.

i myself prefer slotted, heres a shot of the stoptech stage 2 slotted kit i installed not long ago. i'm on stoptech slotted rotors, EBC redstuff pads and stoptech braided SS lines. the combo feels great:

pete, i have the ones cedric got. slotted stoptechs. fyi.. most rotor manufacturers dont warrant cracks on drilled rotors. i would love to have drilled because thats what all the new cars have, but they have warranty. lol. the guy with the expensive ceramic drilled porsche rotors can stomp on the brakes all he wants because they'll replace em for free. i couldnt do that with the tc. so thats the only thing that kept me away from the drilled because the drilled look better. what brand were you looking at?

I painted them red a while back. The front calipers, look black now, lol. Since I drive so much.

The rear still look red.
