do yourself a favor and get rid of mcafee, i've had so many viruses/trojans pass right by it undetected. that and norton are the two biggest pieces of ____t when it comes to any form of protection, and they HOG system resources hardcore.

Avira Antivir, AVG Free and Spybot is all you need - all free and they actually WORK.

on top of that you wont even be able to unistall it correctly, mcafee actually had to make a executible file that completely wipes the program from your hard drive because once you install it it **** everything up how those those two companies are still in business is beyond me

 

The brand got huge, and the quality deteriorated =/

I'm talking about the anti-virus companies ^^

As far as greddy, thats pretty wild news =(

isnt avg not free anymore? i have avg free 7.5 but i dont think it downloads the updates anymore. like it tries to but i dont think it does. i could be wrong cuz i don't pay attention to it anymore. anyone know?

 

Maybe you only get a trial period of updates. After that it doesn't let you anymore =p

 

avast antivirus gives you a completely free antivirus with updates and everything, all u gotta do is register

P.S. So you guys say I should un-install mcafee and get the ones you guys posted...I noticed I have both norton and mc installed on this comp

 

i guarentee you if you install AVG and/or Avira then run them both full computer scan with norton + mcafee still installed, you'll get a handful of worms trojans and viruses discovered.
