Ok question for you computer guys...I want to upgrade/increase the RAM in my laptop...I have 1GB right now....I want to at least up the memory to 2GB but would I be able to do 4GB or would that be like pushing 15psi on a stock motor? lol

You could probably do 4gb, but my experience in the past was that on a 32 bit OS it will only use 3 gb of Ram. It tops out there and then the other ram is used by the video card, or just wasted pretty much.

 

o ok so basically just stick to 2GB?...Imma need to talk to you lol, I need some pointers on upgraded laptops. I have another pretty much new laptop I'm allowed to look at, try and fix, and upgrade....but laptops are something I pretty much a newb at lol

^ yea, I would stick with 2 gigs or 3 if you can get a 2 gig card, but going for 4 would be a waste. I can help ya with the laptop, just lmk, lol. a couple of things you can upgrade on the laptop is the RAM, and Hdd, some let you do the video card, and sometimes u can even upgrade the cpu, but if u just want it to be a bit faster without spending alot the ram is usually a good way to start.

like geo said, try to get 2gb on ur laptop. 1gb or lower on a vista laptop is a piece of s#it. i just upgraded to 2gb (thanks to my bro) and it increased performance and u'll see a notable difference. eventho vista is still a piece of s#it and hopefully windows 7 comes out soon so all our slow vista issues will be over. there's no use in adding more than 2gb on a 32bit tho, so unless u have a 64bit, do not do more than 2gb because u will not see a difference. holla playa.

I got 3gb on my laptop is vista runs pretty smoothly..imma start looking into windows 7 tho..heard about it for the first time last night.

About last night..it was pretty cool seeing a bunch of people in the meet..hadnt been like that in a long time lol
