Calling all people in FL, GA, AL,TN, KY, SC and anybody else. I would like to know who in the South East would like to attend an all Scion Drag War and Car Show. It would be at Orlando SpeedWorld in Bithlo, right outside Orlando. The most likely date for this event would be in early October on a Sat., this will provide hopefully a little bit better weather for racing, being outside for the car show and provide enough time for planning and preperation for me and those who attend.

This event is in the early stages of planning and is why I need everybodies input if this is somthing they would like to attend and are interested in.

More details will be available as time goes on and I know I can make this happen.

Justin, please mention it to the people at the meet tonight and have them vote. Were gonna need atleast 100 people between people racing, people showing and spectators, to be able to pull it off( pay for the track, trophies, prizes, etc.)

only thing my xA drags is the drag blocks under the car. Sounds like fun we might could get a few people from Ga to come down.

Yeah I read your post about dragging But if this does happen Ericka, please rally the GA troops and caravan on down. There are plenty of hotels to stay at and im sure we could get some discounts for you all.

my problem is that I would want to do both the show and the racing. my issue is going to be doing both at the same time.

well, there are a few people around here locally that would be game. they're all members on here so they'll probably run across this page sometime. I'll see if my club wants to get in on this.

i'll be talking to scion dynasty, you should try and get in contact with scion evolution, KAD, etc etc

 

Why do you have an issue with doing both? I would make the judging of cars first, then drags would happen, so anybody like you who wants to "show and go" would be able to do that. I wish everybody would take a trip down the 1/4 mile, just to say they did it and see what they run. I will spread the word about this to all clubs and Scions, once im sure about things with the track.

 

well... that works then. i've gone to a couple of car show/track days down at my local track down here and the track events occur at the same time that the judges are making their rounds for the car show.
if you can set it up time wise to let us do both, that would be awesome!

You know I'm in! If we need sponsors let me know the details and I'll see what I can do. Also if you need help with anything pm me and I'll try my best. Let the track people know it's gonna be a show and race, they may charge for just the track and be nice and let us use the rest for free. Maybe the moderators would allow you to post a message in the sponsored sales section looking for sponsors of this event or can recommend a section to post for sponsors. I know there's a few sponsors of SL that are from FL and it could be good biz for them.

I want to thank everbody that has chimed in and voted so far on this thread.

But if we are going to make this a reality, we are going to need support from alot more people. So, take a minute and decide if you would want attend and if you would want to make the drive to the event. I would like all the people in the South East to get on board and attend if possible.I will give this poll another week for people to vote and we will hopefully have enough support by then, to get the ball rolling.
